Industry leading carer training
Posted on 30th November 2011.

Leading homecare specialist Helping Hands Homecare is expanding its regional network with the launch of a first office in Redditch on Church Green West.  Such is the demand for their service Helping Hands are looking to recruit and train another 80 carers to join their Redditch team over the next six months.

Having worked closely with families as well as local authorities in the area for the last 20 years, the Helping Hands Home Care in Redditch team will continue to be responsible for providing a homecare service that can embrace companionship, housekeeping through to the meeting of full personal care needs. Their existing team currently offer personal visits from as little as half an hour a day right through to ongoing 24 hour live in support.

From the William Street office four managers will work with 70 directly employed carers, acting as a day-to-day contact for families and ensuring quality service and continuity of care.

Redditch customer manager, Kim Verity said: “Being faced with the reality of organising care, whether for yourself or a loved one, can be very stressful, especially as not everyone is aware of the care options available to them. I rarely meet anyone needing care whose ambition isn’t to remain in their own home or live an independent and fulfilling life. In a recent customer survey 98% of customers said that the service they receive from Helping Hands has helped improve their quality of life. It is this level of service that we want to maintain, by opening an office in Redditch we believe we will be able to offer even greater levels of support to Redditch and the local communities.”

Tim Lee, CEO of Helping Hands, commented: “The launch of our Redditch office demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the best possible service at a local level, ensuring faster response times and easier access to advice and personal support.

“Our Redditch managerial team has a wealth of experience in the home care services sector and when combined with our 20 years of expertise and the quality of carers we have already in the community, are ideally placed to offer a first class service to those in need of support.”

The move away from the company’s Alcester base also reflects their commitment as a major employer within Redditch.

Helping Hands is taking 596 sq ft at 6 Church Green West on a two year deal arranged through Redditch property agents John Truslove. “It is terrific that such a caring organization as Helping Hands is moving into Redditch and creating new jobs,” said Mr Truslove. “We were very pleased to be of assistance.”

Founded by Tim’s mother Mary Lee, Helping Hands was established in 1989 and holds preferred provider status for Redditch, Astwood Bank and Inkberrow for Worcestershire County Council. Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) it is a member of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA).
