What Is Nursing Care?
Our nursing care at home in Cheltenham is a fully managed service that encompasses visiting and live-in care. We support people with complex care needs in the homes they love, and we have our own team of clinical nurses who fully manage and oversee these care packages. Enabling people to continue living at home - as opposed to going into residential care - means the world to us, and we know it means everything to our customers too.

The Difference Between Nursing Care and Residential Care in Cheltenham
When you have complex care needs you and your loved ones may think your only option is to move into residential care, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. We’ve always believed that your own home is the best place to receive the care and support you need; after all, you’re comfortable there. You’ll also retain control of your support plan when you receive care at home, along with one-to-one support from familiar, friendly faces. That can’t happen in a residential care home because of the number of residents each carer has to look after.

Conditions We Support Through Nursing Care
Our carers are expert at helping people with a wide range of conditions, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing. Our highly experienced nursing team also have extensive clinical experience, meaning the carers they manage have all the skills necessary to support acquired brain injury, MND, dementia, cerebral palsy, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, Parkinson’s, palliative/end of life care, and much more.

Our Clinical Nursing Care Services in Cheltenham
Our team of nurses have extensive clinical experience from within the NHS, meaning they’re perfectly placed to support our complex and nursing care packages. Having our own team of nurses means Helping Hands are in the best possible position to support people who wish to have nursing care at home. Training they can deliver includes ventilated care - such as NIPPY, BIPAP, CPAP, catheter, bowel and stoma care, PEG tube feeding, nephrostomy care, and support with colostomy, urostomy, or ileostomy.

Who Is Nursing Care in Cheltenham Suitable For?
If you’re living with a complex care condition, nursing care at home may be the perfect fit for you. You may be finding it difficult to manage your daily practical housekeeping tasks, preparing meals, or conducting your personal care; whatever support you need we can deliver. If you’ve been diagnosed with a progressive or terminal condition you may also need additional support, and that’s where your nursing care in Cheltenham team will help you to live as well as possible.

Nursing Care at Home vs. a Nursing Home in Cheltenham
Nursing homes care for many people at once, and while they may have a nurse on duty around the clock, this will change daily. This will also be the case with care assistants, and you may not see the same people for days at a time. If you have care at home however, you’ll get to know a small team of carers who’ll have your best interests at heart, and if you have live-in care, it’ll be the same person for long periods. This makes care at home the most consistent type of care you can receive, and the most personalised too.

How Our Nursing Care in Cheltenham Works
When you first get in touch with us, we’ll ask questions about the care you’d like and arrange a no-obligation assessment with one of our local care managers in Cheltenham. They’ll explain all of your options to you, while building your care package around your preferences. Home care means you get personalised support, designed around your holistic needs and routines, delivered in the home you love. Get in touch today so we can begin your Helping Hands support journey.

Our Qualified Nursing Care Team
We’re proud to have our own team of clinical nurses working for Helping Hands. This means you can trust that we have the knowledge and expertise to deliver highly complex care packages in a way that our competitors cannot. Our nursing team manage all of our nursing care packages and make sure that our carers and personal assistants have all the knowledge and practical skills they need.

Nursing Care Funding and Costs in Cheltenham
Whether you’d benefit more from a structured plan of regular visits, or live-in care around the clock, will be up to you. Our nursing care is available as both and will be built around your unique needs. Being able to continue living at home, while not necessarily paying more than you would in a care home, is appealing to many people. We’ll obviously build you a personalised quote before your care begins, yet as a rule our prices begin at the following:
Visiting care begins at £32.40 per hour, plus a one-off callout charge per visit of £4.50.
Live-in care for an individual begins at £1,675 per week and for a couple £2,125 per week.
Live-in respite care begins at £345 per day.

NHS Continuing Healthcare and Nursing Care
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of care that is paid for an arranged by the NHS. Unlike local authority care funding, NHS continuing healthcare is not means tested. An assessment will be carried out to see if you’re eligible, undertaken by an Integrated Care Board (ICB), after which another assessment will be carried out by a healthcare professional not involved in your care. We accept various methods of payment for your Helping Hands care, and our friendly customer care advisors will be able to advise you further about care funding.
