Industry leading respite care in Cheltenham

Every caregiver needs to take a much-needed break sometimes, and our respite carers can help ensure that your loved ones are well-cared for while you’re away. A respite care package is tailored to your loved one’s needs, whether that means an occasional visit or around the clock care.
Helping Hands have been supporting people to live comfortably in their own homes since we were established in 1989, and because we deliver care on both a visiting and live-in basis, we can build your package of care exactly to your requirements.

When should I choose respite care, and what can a carer help with?

Respite care can be necessary because your regular carer needs to take a well-earned break or because you need a little extra support to get back on your feet after a hospital stay. There’s no need to feel you have to move into residential care when you need temporary support, you can continue living in comforting and familiar surroundings with respite care tailored to you. Our home care in Cheltenham team is there to make sure that life goes on as normal at home, with continuous care and all the support you need.

Why you may need Cheltenham respite care

You may need respite care so that your carers can take breaks and holidays, or in more unplanned situations. We can often send a carer to your home within 24 hours of first contacting us, so if you fall ill or have an accident, we have you covered. When it comes to family and loved ones, nothing but the best will do. Helping Hands has been in the home care industry for 37 years and in that time, we’ve amassed the experience and know-how needed to deliver truly outstanding care to our customers.

The benefits of respite care at home

Respite care at home allows your carer to have a break, but also the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’ll remain in good hands. Helping Hands carers specialise in personal, customised care that fits in around your pre-existing routines and habits. We work hard to make sure that all the day’s activities carry on as you'd like, including housework, mobility around the home, personal care, and medication, or something as simple as sharing a friendly cup of tea and a biscuit in the kitchen.

Choosing Helping Hands for respite care

We know that the people we care for are unique individuals. We don’t offer generic care services because we know that everyone is different. Instead, we make sure to get to know you on a personal level, so that we can work around your established home life and offer you the support you want. Helping Hands offers not only respite care, but a range of flexible services including emergency care, overnight care and nurse-led support. We understand that things don’t always go according to plan, and that care needs can and do change. This is why we’re flexible and adaptable in the support we offer you.

Our expert respite carers in Cheltenham

Our carers are amazing people, but that’s because we only choose outstanding candidates to join our home care teams. We screen them thoroughly, check references carefully, and train them extensively so that they’re ready to support their customers. We also continue their learning journey throughout their time at Helping Hands, building on their existing skills and experience in ways that support their role. Because we’re certified and monitored by the Care Quality Commission, you can rest assured that the care you receive will be effective and safe, and delivered by properly trained and compassionate professionals.
