Meet the Cromer care team
Branch Care Manager
Hi, I am the Branch Manager in the Fakenham branch of Helping Hands. My job is to provide a team of well trained and professional carers. These carers provide excellent support to people wanting to remain living independently and safely in their own homes. With the help of a Care Coordinator and Care and Training Practitioner we provide a tailor-made service to customers that is regularly reviewed and altered as changes in need determine. I have worked in care, in various settings since I left school. It was a job I quickly fell in love with and I have never looked back. I could be quoted as telling people constantly that this is the best job in the world. I know this area really well. I live here with my husband and two dogs. We all love living so close to the seaside and we do lots of walking on the beach and swimming in the sea.

-
If you’re not keen on being alone in your own home but are reluctant to move into residential care, then having live-in care at home could be the answer you’re looking for. Your carer will be with you all day and night, so you’ll always have care and companionship at home, and their in-depth knowledge of your condition will ensure that they can always care for you properly. Never being alone at home will be reassuring for not just you but also your loved ones, and you and your carer will quickly become friends as they help you with all aspects of your daily routine.

Better than a care agency in Cromer
-
Helping Hands has never been a care agency and we pride ourselves on the bespoke, specialised one-to-one care that we offer all of our customers. Agencies don’t tend to employ their carers; instead telling them they need to go through the hassle of self-employment when they should be focussing all their energies on you, the customer. We’re different in so many ways but not least because we employ our carers directly, meaning their primary focus is always on you.

Domiciliary care to support you
-
Domiciliary care is often referred to as care at home, because in essence it’s the same thing. You receive care in your own home on either a visiting or live-in basis, or a blend of the two, and this ensures that you get all the support you need without having to uproot from the home you love and move to residential care. This means you set the pace; you get up when you want, go to bed when you want and eat when you want; not when the home says you have to.
-
Dementia care suited to you
-
During our 30 years’ dementia care experience we have learnt a lot about caring for people living with dementia, whether Alzheimer’s, vascular or any of the hundred or so types there are. That’s why we consider ourselves the UK’s foremost dementia specialist when it comes to caring for you in your own home. Staying at home for your care can help to reduce confusion and anxiety too, as being in familiar surroundings, close to loved ones and precious memories can promote comforting feelings of safety.
-
Respite care at home
-
When your regular carer needs a well-earned break or if you need extra support after an operation or illness our carers come to you, ensuring that you get to remain in the home you love, while not disturbing your routine. This means that you can have respite care for anything from a few days to a few weeks and thanks to your continuation of care, you will barely notice any difference! This means that your carer gets some time away from the demanding duties of being a full-time carer, while you enjoy the same high levels of personalised care.
