High quality care in Cumbria from Helping Hands
Helping Hands have been established throughout the home care in Cumbria region for many years, yet there are still people in the area who don’t realise they could avoid moving into residential care and instead receive support in the home they love. Because we’ve been delivering exceptional live-in care for decades, we really are the home care experts and know what it takes to keep people comfortable and supported in their precious home. You may have mild support needs, or you may need complex care, but rest assured we have the knowledge and expertise to assist you however you need us. We offer care for every stage of your health journey, whether you’re living with a deteriorating condition, or you’d just appreciate some companionship, and because we’re fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, you’ll always receive the very highest standards of care.

When to choose live in care
Your circumstances will be individual to you and that’s how we’ll always treat you – as an individual. We only deliver person-centred care at Helping Hands, wanting to make sure that you remain at the centre of your care experience and live as well as possible in the home you love. We promote your independence too, as we want you to remain in control of your own life and direct how you want your everyday routine to progress. Our carers will support you to enjoy life on your own terms and to make the most of your local community too, accompanying you to activities, appointments, and favourite hobbies.

Expert care tailored to your needs
Having several decades of experience really does put us ahead of our competitors, but so does the way we conduct our business. We’re not a care agency, we’re a private home care company and always have been, which is why we don’t trust leaving something as important as sourcing our carers to anyone else. We’re very particular about the type of people who join us and ensure they have an aptitude for caring for others above all else. We also have our own clinical nursing team who can manage more complex packages of care, where necessary.

Qualified carers providing live in care in Cumbria
Once our carers are recruited and we’ve decided that they meet the Helping Hands standard we commence a period of intense learning for them. They may already have a lot of experience – which we value and build upon – meaning that everyone meets our consistently high standards and have the opportunity to learn new skills throughout their career with us. We’re very proud that many of our managers began as carers with us and that throughout our business we have people who’ve chosen to stay and develop their career. Constantly updating skills is crucial in this industry and we ensure all our employees do so regularly.
