Assisted living in Derby

What does our assisted living support include?

Assisted living is designed to provide additional support to people who need it, either at home or in purpose-built accommodation. Historically, people requiring extra support through assisted living have left the home they love and relocated to a residential home. All care services provided by our wonderful Home Care in Derby team are independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), so you can be confident your support will always be of the very highest standard.

However, more and more people are now choosing to instead experience assisted living in the comfort of the home they love – where they’re surrounded by familiar furniture, people and scenery, and are able to continue doing the things they love.

Qualified carers providing assisted living in Derby

Our brilliant Derby carers are highly trained and fully equipped to assist you around the house and give you as much independence and freedom as possible – whether you need someone to prepare meals, look after pets, undertake continence care, administer medication or so much more. They can also assist you with more general tasks such as popping to the shops, attending appointments and meeting friends. All of our carers receive expert training when they start with us, as well as regular refresher courses to keep their knowledge and skillset constantly topped up.

When to consider this type of support?

Assisted living can be a great option for anyone who needs additional support on a day-to-day basis but doesn’t wish to leave the home in which they’re currently living. It might be that you’re living with a complex condition which requires specific support, or maybe you have a disability which makes it difficult to get everything done around the house and do everything you enjoy doing. Whatever your circumstances and the nature of your needs, we’ll take the time to make sure you’ve got a support plan that is tailored around your requirements and preferences and never leaves you feeling isolated or unsupported.

How much does assisted living cost?

The cost of supported living from Helping Hands will vary depending on your level of need. Our visiting care packages start from £25.27 per hour, whilst live-in care prices start at £1,599 per week for one person and £1,839 per week for a couple. Each care visit also incurs a £3.50 fee to cover your carer’s costs.

We know how important it is to you that your care is straightforward to arrange, sustainably affordable, and doesn’t come with any unwanted extras or additional costs. That’s why we’re completely transparent about the upfront costs involved in our industry-leading home care, and will never ever try to push you to sign up for any extra hours or services that you don’t want or need. Your local care manager in Derby will always be on hand to help you make any changes you wish to make to your support at a moment’s notice.
