What’s included with live in care in Derby?

Home care covers a whole range of different type of care, but the common theme is that regardless of the level of support you’re receiving or what you have care for, all of it will take place within the comfort of your own home, rather than in residential care.

Many of our customers in Derby start with support little and often throughout the week – perhaps half an hour here and an hour there – to help out with things such as cleaning, doing the laundry, watering the plants and preparing a meal. It can be quite a daunting prospect inviting someone new into your home, especially if you’ve always been fiercely independent, so receiving support several times a week is a great way to ease you into a routine of having care at home.

And if you find that you need more regular support throughout the day with personal care, administering medication or moving around your home safely, we can adapt the level of care we provide to fit in with your needs and preferences.

Do you need care?

No two people require care for the same reason, and that’s why all of our support plans are completely unique to the individual and centred around them.

You may have a complex health care need such as Parkinson’s or motor neurone disease (MND) and need round-the-clock live in care support from a live-in carer, or you may need assistance attending appointments or getting to the shops if you are elderly and slightly unsteady on your feet. We can make sure that you will receive care at home that caters to you and is bespoke to your requirements, giving you and your loved ones’ peace of mind that you are comfortable and cared for.

Short term care at home

With visiting care, you can receive visits from the local team in Derby to help with tasks around the house, support with getting dressed and making you nutritious, wholesome meals. And it’s not just the practical tasks that we’ll take care of – your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical wellbeing. So, if you want someone there to take you out and about for the afternoon to your favourite park or if you need the extra reassurance of having someone there overnight, our friendly team will be there when you need them.

Intermittent long-term care

Providing care for a loved one full time can be a wonderful yet tiring job, and it’s really important that you take time out for yourself to rest and recuperate. While you’re taking a break, respite care could be the ideal solution for you both to ensure that the same level of care that you would normally deliver is in place, giving you both peace of mind that routines aren’t altered and your loved one is still getting the care and support they require.

Immediate start carers

For situations when planning for care isn’t possible, the Derby team can usually arrange for emergency care to be in place on the same day as your enquiry to them. Whether you’re just coming out of hospital after an illness or operation, if you’ve just had a fall or if your home circumstances have changed – we’ll ensure that our empathetic carers look after you and keep you safe and well at home.

Our Carers

Melissa’s team of carers really do go above and beyond the call of duty every single day. Whether they’re providing care to a couple who need help with their housework and walking their dog, or if they’re accompanying a customer on a short break away so they still get the care they need whilst they’re on holiday, it’s these natural traits of truly caring for others that we seek when recruiting our staff.

We believe that providing high-quality care is more than just practical support; it’s about spending each day with someone that brings happiness to your life – and that’s exactly what you’ll get with live-in care from our Derby team. So, if you enjoy watching the Rams play at Pride Park Stadium, we’ll be right there with you in a black and white scarf.

As well as enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks and character references, our new starters are also required to complete an award winning training course that will equip them with the skills they need when they’re out in the field, covering modules such as first aid, equality & diversity, manual handling, personal care and safeguarding.
