What does our assisted living support include?

Assisted living at home is a type of care designed to support people who are experiencing the natural challenges that we face as we get older. Our Home Care in Gateshead team will provide you with a dedicated carer in your home to offer one-to-one support that allows you to continue enjoying your independence and spend time doing the things you enjoy, whatever your age. All of our carers receive our industry-renowned carer training when they join, and our assisted living is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)

Even a small amount of support from an expert carer can go a long way to easing any concerns you or your loved ones may have and allowing you to live a happier and healthier life for longer. We’re able to offer assisted living support on both a visiting care and live-in care basis, with visits starting from just 30 minutes per week.

Qualified carers providing assisted living in Gateshead

At Helping Hands Gateshead, we place a great deal of importance on ensuring every single one of our carers meets the incredibly high standards that our customers have come to expect when they see the Helping Hands uniform. We’re extremely selective about who we recruit to our Gateshead team – we only accept candidates who share our company-wide values of kindness and compassion, and who are as committed as we are to helping people continue to live life on their own terms. .

When to consider this type of support?

Assisted living can be extremely beneficial to people with a wide variety of needs and in a range of circumstances. For instance, you might have just received a dementia diagnosis and are starting to need a bit of extra help around the house and with mobility. Our carers all receive expert training in supporting people with many types and stages of dementia, and will help you manage your symptoms so that you can remain comfortable and confident for as long as possible. Perhaps you have a stoma or catheter that you’d like help with, need someone to stay on top of the housework for you, or would simply like to have a friendly companion pop by every now and then. Whatever the nature of your needs, our wonderful carers will always be delighted to help make life just a little bit easier.

How much does assisted living cost?

We know how confusing and complicated the first few steps of your care journey can be. There’s so much information available to try and make sense of, and numerous different types of care that might be suitable for your circumstances. At Helping Hands, we’re committed to making sure our pricing structures and costs are as straightforward and simple as possible, so that you can have total confidence about what your care plan will look like and how much it will cost. And, unlike many care agencies, we employ our carers directly, which means you won’t have to worry about paying your carers each month.

The cost of assisted living from Helping Hands will vary depending on your level of need. Our visiting care packages start from £25.27 per hour, whilst live-in care prices start at £1,599 per week for one person and £1,839 per week for a couple. Each care visit also incurs a £3.50 fee to cover your carer’s costs.

We know how important it is to you that your care is straightforward to arrange, sustainably affordable, and doesn’t come with any unwanted extras or additional costs. That’s why we’re completely transparent about the upfront costs involved in our industry-leading home care, and will never ever try to push you to sign up for any extra hours or services that you don’t want or need. Your local care manager in Gateshead will always be on hand to help you make any changes you wish to make to your support at a moment’s notice.
