What does our assisted living support include?

Assisted living at home from our Hertford team provides you or your loved one with personalised, one-to-one support that enables you to continue living in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of the home you love. At Helping Hands, we firmly believe that when the need for external care arises, it’s normally best to remain in your own home. Staying at home not only means you can maintain a better quality of life, but also that you can fully customise your care plan – whether that means fine-tuning the times your carers visit, or having your favourite meals prepared just the way you like them. Our assisted living is provided by expertly-trained carers and, for your peace of mind, independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Qualified carers providing assisted living in Hertford

One of the main reasons we’re the UK’s most widely-trusted home care provider is that we have such compassionate and dedicated carers. We’re extremely particular about who we recruit to our care teams, only ever hiring people who share our family values and who possess a genuinely kind and empathetic outlook. All of our carers must pass numerous background checks before joining, to ensure they’ll be a perfect fit for us and for you. Then, when they start with us, they enrol on our industry-leading carer training, which takes place over the course of four days and includes modules such as dementia care, moving and handling, housekeeping, first aid and medication assistance.

When to consider assisted living

Assisted living can be a great support option for people with a wide range of needs. Whether you or a loved one would benefit from a bit of friendly companionship and basic practical support around the house, or need someone to stop by several times a day to provide more complex assistance with mobility, toileting and medication, assisted living is designed to help you maintain your independence and have as normal a life as possible. We’re able to offer assisted living on both a visiting and live-in care basis, with both options fully tailored to your personal needs and wishes.

How much does assisted living cost?

The cost of assisted living from Helping Hands will vary depending on your level of need. Our visiting care packages start from £29.00 per hour, whilst live-in care prices start at £1,650 per week for one person and £1,650 per week for a couple. Each care visit also incurs a £4.25 fee to cover your carer’s costs.

We know how important it is to you that your care is straightforward to arrange, sustainably affordable, and doesn’t come with any unwanted extras or additional costs. That’s why we’re completely transparent about the upfront costs involved in our industry-leading home care, and will never ever try to push you to sign up for any extra hours or services that you don’t want or need. Your local care manager in Hertford will always be on hand to help you make any changes you wish to make to your support at a moment’s notice.
