Visiting care and home care in Ilkeston

Ilkeston has history going back to the 6th century AD and appears in the Domesday Book as Tilchestune. Created a borough by Queen Victoria in 1887, Ilkeston was home to the Stanton Ironworks, one of the biggest and most important local employers, which ran from the 1780s until its closure in 2007, although evidence had been found of ironworking being carried out in the area since Roman times.

Whilst our history isn’t anywhere near as far-reaching, Helping hands has achieved enormous success since we were founded in 18989, supporting over 40,000 customers to remain in the home they love, thanks to our visiting and live-in care services, with visiting care starting rom just 30 minutes a week.

Elderly care for extra support

Whether you’re seeking a little extra company from time to time or you’d appreciate help with daily tasks such as housework, personal care or meal preparation, why not talk to us about elderly care? As we grow older we can begin to struggle more with aspects of our day-to-day living, and we’re often reluctant to seek help from family members, considering them too busy. However, with support form our compassionate and empathetic carers, you can find that life becomes easier again and you get to concentrate on the benefits of getting older, such as enjoying visits from loved ones.

Fully trained carers in Ilkeston

We believe our carers are the best because they deliver expert service to thousands of our customers across England and Wales, every single day. We always keep our customers dignity and independence at the forefront of their personalised support package and achieve this partly through the expert training we give to our carers when they join us. We also offer opportunities for professional development throughout their career and many of our managers started off with us as carers, showing how we like to look after our carers from day one. We also look after our customers though, and consequently all of our carers are DBS screened before they’re able to care for you, and being fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales means you can have full confidence in our service.
