Meet Sarah, our Area Manager

Sarah Richards, Nottingham Branch Manager

"Hello! I’m Sarah, the East Midlands Area Manager. It’s my job to support local Branch Managers so they are able to develop a team of friendly and professional carers to support our customers. I have lived and worked in Nottingham all my life, so I know the local area very well. I ensure that our customers’ care plans are maintained and that our carers feel well supported with up-to-date training, regular supervisions, and direct observations. The East Midlands has a fantastic team of carers who I can trust implicitly to provide the best possible service to our customers."

Visiting home care in Nottingham

Here at Helping Hands we offer individually tailored high quality home care in Nottingham, West Bridgford, Beeston, Mansfield, Radcliffe on Trent, Clifton, Wollaton and the surrounding areas. Still family owned and run, we draw on over 28 years of experience, to ensure that the very best standards of support are delivered by our carers to each and every one of our customers.

Sarah and her team provide everything from companionship, housekeeping, through to providing more complex healthcare support for people with conditions such as MS, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s, acquired brain injuries and those that have suffered a stroke. Every member of the Helping Hands team is here to ensure we enable our customers to enjoy the quality of life they deserve in the comfort of their own home, irrespective of their personal or medical needs.

The team of dedicated carers across Nottingham and the surrounding areas are chosen and trained at the branch, supported by expert guidance from a team of registered nurses and myself. We draw on our extensive knowledge of the area, having first launched Helping Hands in Warwickshire in 1989.

Helping Hands saved the day… We cannot express how important it was for Danny to be able to stay at home with his regular carers and be well looked after at short notice.

Live-in care in Nottingham

If you need a more intense level of home care in Nottingham our carers are fully trained to provide you with it. Our live-in care services in Nottingham mean that one of our carers can be there to help you around the clock. If you have a progressive medical condition or have been recently injured and need support around the home, one of our carers can give you the extra support you need. If your medical condition requires that you take medication in the middle of the night, one of our carers can be there to remind you to take it, and help to administer it.

You can be confident in the expert knowledge of our carers. All of our local Nottingham carers have been fully trained at our very own Centre of Excellence, and have a wide knowledge of complex condition-led care. All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.

Friendly, qualified carers in Nottingham

Our Nottingham carers are committed to providing you or your loved one with the very best possible care. To ensure that they can deliver your care to the highest standard, we are committed to providing them with a comprehensive programme of training and support.

Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in on-going training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements.

Our carers are also committed to ensuring that you receive the best condition-led care available, and work with local GPs to understand how best to support you.

Bethan's story: flexible home care

Bethan is 72 and from a village in Nottingham. Due to her breathing problems, she finds walking to the local shops difficult, especially if she needs to do her weekly food shopping.

Our local Nottingham carer, Nat, visits Bethan up to three times each week to help carry the shopping home and with other household tasks such as washing and cooking. If Bethan is having chest pains, Nat will visit more regularly to help with her ventilator and administer medication for pain relief.
