How much does home care cost in Oxford?

Costs of care from Helping Hands Oxford

Finding a reliable, friendly carer for yourself or a loved one can often be a time-consuming and stressful process. One of the main factors in choosing a home care provider is almost certainly going to be the cost involved, and whether you’ll be eligible for any sort of funding to help pay for your care. At Helping Hands, we’re completely upfront about exactly what our different types of care cost.

We ensure all of our customers know exactly what they’re getting for their money from the get-go so that you can have complete peace of mind about every aspect of your care plan. With over 30 years’ experience of delivering high-quality home care to customers across England and Wales, we know how to provide meaningful, compassionate support that genuinely improves people’s well-being. Our home care Oxford experts will be able to offer you a bespoke package of care that is perfectly suited to your situation.

Understanding your home care costs

We’re constantly looking for new ways to improve our care services so that they continue to represent the best value for money. All of our care packages are fully tailored to each customer’s specific requirements and preferences, and our wonderful carers will ensure you get the support you need to enjoy the quality of life that you deserve.

Visiting care

With visiting care from Helping Hands, you’ll receive dedicated one-to-one care on your own terms. Our visiting care plans start from just 30 minutes per week, which might be ideal for someone just looking for a bit of extra help around the home. For people with more complex needs, we can also visit several times a day at the times that suit you best, so you’ll be fully supported with all the chores and routines you most need help with. Our wonderful carers can assist with anything you need around the house, including personal care, mobility support, preparing meals, housework, and so much more. They can also help you get out and about to attend appointments, visit the shops or take a day trip somewhere.

Visiting care outline costs:

  • Prices start from £22.29 per hour for one-to-one home care
  • Flexible costs for visits lasting 30, 45 or 60 minutes
  • Prices depend on your location and specific care needs
  • Overnight care available as well as support provided during weekends and bank holidays
  • Call-out fee of £4.25 per visit to cover travel costs
  • Free home visit from your local care specialist to assess your needs (for care lasting more than a month) and ongoing support

Live-in care

Live-in care may initially seem pricey, but our weekly fees are actually very comparable to most residential care homes – and are generally cheaper when it’s a couple receiving care – and the per-hour rate is much lower than it would be for a high level of visiting care.

Live-in care involves having an expert, compassionate Helping Hands carer come to live with you in your home and provide you with round-the-clock support. This means you’ll always have a friendly face around to help you with all the tasks and routines you’re struggling with, as well as benefitting from companionship whenever you need it. Live-in care also allows you to live life on your own terms – you’ll get to remain in the home that you love, surrounded by friends and family, and you won’t be constrained by things like visiting hours and set bedtimes like you would be in a care home.

Live-in care costs start from:

£1,460 per week for a single person

£1,700 per week for a couple

Most of our customers pay for their own care, but there are occasions when funding is available to you through your local authority or through a non-means-tested Attendance Allowance from the government. At Helping Hands, we directly employ all of our carers, which means you’ll be able to spend your time and energy doing the things you enjoy and focusing on your wellbeing rather than worrying about making payments and dealing with fiddly paperwork. All of our care services are fully regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales.
