Visiting care and live-in care in Paignton

Paignton was a small fishing and farming village until the 19th century, when in 1837 a new harbour was constructed. The modern spelling, Paignton, first appeared around the same time, after being previously written PeyntonPayngton and Paington, and in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Peintone.

With a rich history all of our own, Helping Hands also respect and appreciate the heritage of the locations we establish ourselves in and with our visiting and live-in care services we can cater for anyone who needs our support.

Meet the team

Kathryn Dawe

Meet Kathryn Dawe, our Branch Care Manager, Paignton

My responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day running of the branch. I access customers' needs and I set up care packages, while overseeing schedules to ensure customers have continuity of care and make sure person-centred care is always delivered - making sure everything is compliant. In short, I am the one accountable for the smooth running of the Torquay branch. The things I enjoy most about my role is knowing my team and customers, and interacting with them. I enjoy receiving outstanding feedback from our customers about the care they have received. I have been a carer myself, and often share this with new carers joining the team. I still love delivering care. In my spare time, I love knitting, crochet and baking, and quite often treat the branch staff to my bakes!
