Meet Jeanette, our Area Manager
“Hello! I’m Jeanette, the Area Manager for our Torquay branch. I am responsible for ensuring that customers are provided with excellent care, by carers that are valued, well trained and supported by the branch.
"I have worked in social care for 20 years. Prior to joining Helping Hands, I managed domiciliary care businesses, which consisted of starting two businesses from scratch and turning around a failing branch.
"There have been many customers throughout my career that have affected my life in an incredibly positive ways- so many of these individuals have inspired me through their stories and actions. Among them have been men who fought in World War II and Burma."
Here at Helping Hands we offer individually tailored high quality home care in Torquay, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Totnes and the surrounding areas. Still family owned and run, we draw on 29 years of experience to ensure that the very best standards of support are delivered by our carers to each and every one of our customers.
Nicola and her team provide everything from companionship, housekeeping, through to providing more complex healthcare support for people with conditions such as MS, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s, acquired brain injuries and those who have suffered a stroke. Every member of the Helping Hands team is here to ensure we enable our customers to enjoy the quality of life they deserve in the comfort of their own home, irrespective of their personal or medical needs.
The team of dedicated carers across Torquay, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Totnes and the surrounding areas are chosen and trained at the branch, supported by expert guidance from the branch’s manager and a team of registered nurses. They draw on extensive knowledge of home care, having first launched Helping Hands in Warwickshire in 1989.
If you’re receiving direct payments for social care through social services, we are able to accept top-ups to these payments. Get in touch to find out more.
You can’t imagine Helping Hands, how happy I am that I found you, I think you saved my life that morning you came to see me. I’m shouting your praises from the rooftops
