Why choose Reading elderly home care?

There comes a time for many of us when some aspects of our daily lives become more challenging. Whether you have complex medical needs, are living with dementia, or are just struggling with some day-to-day tasks due to older age, our elderly home care services could be the answer.

Elderly home care consists of assistance and support for elderly people through carers or support staff being in the home – an alternative to going into residential care. Here at Helping Hands, we have a range of different home care packages, meaning that regardless of whether you are looking for just a small amount of support or more specialised care, your life can be made safer, easier, more comfortable, and you can have more control over it.

With over 30 years of experience in caring for the people in our society who need it, here at Helping Hands, we believe that home care is the best way to support our elderly clients, promoting independence, quality of life, and both physical and psychological good health.

Our Reading elderly care team

Here at Helping Hands, we believe that the best way that we can support our elderly clients is through home care. Our fantastic Reading Home Care team is on hand to attend your home, and to provide the assistance that you or your loved one needs.

We believe that home care is the best option for most people for a number of reasons. Going into residential care can be an upheaval and disrupting for many people – especially if they are living with dementia or are elderly. By staying living in the familiarity of their own home, they are surrounded by their own belongings, the things they love, and the people and pets that they love. We are able to adapt the services that we provide to incorporate existing medical and lifestyle routines, promote independence, and give our clients as much control over their lives as possible.

Our person-centred approach to home care means that we aim to tailor-make our services to each individual client, considering their personal wants, needs, likes, and dislikes.

Reading home care for seniors

Here at Helping Hands, we have a range of different care packages available so that we can ensure that everyone’s individual requirements can be met. We can provide visiting care from anything from a few half-hour visits each week, to several visits each day, If you prefer, we can also provide full-time, live in care from our specially selected live-in carers who live in the home and provide care on a full-time basis. Our live-in care staff are carefully matched to suit you, ensuring that a functional relationship and a beautiful friendship can blossom.

We are fully regulated and inspected by the CQC (Care Quality Commission) that works with the government to ensure that care services across England are of a high level. We are also founder members of the UKHCA (United Kingdom Home Care Association) – another organisation that is committed to promoting high levels of care across the UK.

We are also proud to work closely with other organisations that represent the needs of our clients and their carers. Organisations such as Age UK and Dementia UK help us to keep up to date with developments in elderly care and dementia care, as well as deepen our knowledge and allow us to contribute our own experiences in the field.

We can also provide short or long-term respite care.

Emergency care assistance

Here at Helping Hands, we appreciate that not everything can be planned, especially as people head into older age. This is why we can also provide emergency care services at short notice. It may be that you need some support temporarily after being discharged from hospital, that there has been a problem with an existing carer, or that you have suddenly been struck down with an illness.

With as little as 24 hours’ notice, we can arrange for a professional, friendly emergency care worker to come to support you with your needs.
