High quality Reading dementia care from Helping Hands

Dementia is more common amongst the older generation and is an umbrella term for the hundreds of conditions that can affect the brain and memory. Dementia is a progressive illness, and for many people, the condition means that life can become more difficult to manage.

Helping Hands have been supporting people living with dementia at home since we were established in 1989. Our care staff have been specially selected for their experience and compassion and know exactly what is required to help our customers to feel safe, comfortable, and independent in the home they love.

Why care at home is a good option for somebody with dementia

Thanks to our years of experience in providing high-level dementia care, we have a good understanding of what is required to help our clients who are living with dementia in the most effective ways possible. We now understand that it is important for people living with dementia to be living in comfortable, familiar surroundings, with a strong daily routine – which is not necessarily conducive to living in residential care.

We can arrange for professional clinical, nursing care, provided by our registered nurses, full-time live in care in Reading by specially selected live-in care staff, or visiting care – whereby your home is visited as often as you need by our friendly dementia support team – according to your own, specific needs and requirements.

When to choose dementia care at home

Whether you are looking for someone who can help with light housework, laundry, or preparing meals, or someone to help with the administration of medication or nursing care, our fantastic home care in Reading team is always here to help.

We can fully adapt our services to suit your needs, and our person-centred care philosophy cherishes the fact that we become friends as well as carers.

Expert care tailored to your needs

Helping Hands offer visiting and live-in care, tailored to your particular needs and fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales. You may only need us intermittently to give your loved ones a break, or perhaps you’d prefer around the clock, full-time care.

Regardless, we are able to ensure that our customers who have been diagnosed with dementia can stay living in the comfort, security, and familiarity of their own home. It also helps them to maintain a degree of independence and control over their lives, helping to preserve feelings of self-worth.
