Who is community care for?

Community Care is for anyone who would like to remain in their own home to receive care. Whether you have mild or complex care needs you can be supported at home by our amazing carers who will go above and beyond to ensure that you always receive the highest levels of support. Whether you’re embarking on a journey of palliative care, you have age-related frailties, you’re living with dementia, or you would just like some companionship, we can help.

Care in the Wakefield community from Helping Hands

When you have care at home you get to remain in the place you love without worrying about having to move into a care home. As your condition gets more pronounced you may feel that you’ll have no option than to go into residential care, but with our carers providing live-in or visiting care for you, you’ll be able to stay in your beloved home.

Whichever of our services is right for you, you’ll still receive exemplary levels of support with your personal care, medication, mobility, meal preparation, housework, laundry, and accessing the community. We carefully select people locally to become our carers and we ensure they are properly trained after they join us, building on their existing skills and developing new knowledge that can immediately be applied to their customers’ care.

Our visiting care service starts from just 30 minutes per week and our live-in care will see a carer residing in your home with you around the clock. This can be especially reassuring to loved ones if they live some distance away and they know you don’t like being on your own at home. All of our services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, meaning that you get our promise to always uphold our consistently high standards of care.
