Situated between Liverpool and North Wales, the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral is home to a number of fantastic walks and outdoor activities. However, being able to take advantage of these activities can be difficult if you are in need of some extra support; that’s why we have a dedicated team of Helping Hands carers in the area to help you to live independently – both at home and out in your local community.

Offering individually-tailored, high-quality home care in Wirral, Wallasey, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas, our team will work with you to provide a personalised care plan that gives you the support you need, when you need it.

Meet Louise Bradley, our Regional Care Director

“Hi, I’m Louise. As Regional Care Director, I’m responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered throughout our North region across our hourly branches and live-in care teams. My aim is to deliver the highest standards of care through tailored, person-centred care plans that offer outcome-focused delivery through dedicated, expertly-skilled care teams.

“I learnt first-hand how important person-centred care is when my own father was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. Throughout his short fight with the disease, I was overawed and enormously grateful to the multidisciplinary teams who worked selflessly to make his last days as comfortable as they could be. This ignited in me just how important bespoke care is.”

Specialist dementia care from our Wirral team

Here at Helping Hands, we’re proud to be the leading dementia care specialist in the UK. And with 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, we’re fully equipped to support the many different types of dementia and the families they affect.

The time following a dementia diagnosis can be unsettling and confusing for both the individual and their surrounding family. Symptoms of dementia can change and develop over time, but with compassion and professionalism, our expert team of carers are here to give you guidance and support to alleviate any worries you may have.

Elderly care that is focused on you

We understand that the process of ageing can bring difficulties in doing the things you used to do. It may be that you are struggling to keep on top of your housework or even finding it difficult to get dressed and ready for the day. The great thing about elderly care is that we give you the support you need to retain your independence as much as possible, with no compromise to your safety.

Our Wirral team will spend time with you so that we can get to know you and your requirements, making sure that you have everything you need to keep you happy and content at home.

Respite care for short-term support

Being a carer for a loved one is one of the most rewarding jobs there is, but it’s important to take the time you need to have a quick break with some rest and recuperation. To ensure that disruption to your care remains minimal, we’ll work with you to ensure that we provide a seamless transition between carers, delivering high-quality respite care that replicates your existing routines.

Respite care is also an ideal solution if you are recovering from a spell in hospital and need a short-term package of care at home. We can also cover family emergencies or a change of circumstance if your regular carer is unable to reach you – often within 24 hours of your initial enquiry.

Award-winning training for our Wirral carers

Built on a foundation of family values, we know exactly what is needed to train carers to an exceptional standard. All of our carers complete a comprehensive training course in our bespoke training facility in Warwickshire, where we deliver induction and refresher training covering manual handling, first aid, safeguarding and medication administration.

Following a fine-tuned recruitment process, each of our carers receive full background checks, including Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screenings. All of our carers are employed directly by us – so you don’t need to worry about any additional paperwork.

Thanks to the commitment and compassion of our amazing carers, support staff and managers, we are proud to be the first and only home care provider to be recognised as a Centre of Excellence by Skills for Care. We are also fully licensed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), so we always adhere to strict guidelines and regulations to ensure that we meet the highest standards in the industry.
