We can support you in and around Birkenhead, Bebington, Brimstage, Bromborough, Wallasey, Meols, Hoylake, West Kirby, Greasby, Thurstaston and the surrounding areas.
As early as 1150 a ferry service began operating from Birkenhead due to Benedictine monks building a priory there and during the Industrial Revolution, Birkenhead avoided a lot of the industrialisation that was happening in neighbouring Liverpool, thanks to the River Mersey separating them.
We understand growing from small roots at Helping Hands, as over our 30-year history we have expanded from our first local branch to well over 100. Our exceptional visiting and live-in care services will support you or your loved ones in the comfort and safety of your own home.
"As the Regional Care Director for the north, I am responsible for all types of care delivery to our customers - whether it be live-in care or our hourly service. My role involves ensuring that our carers deliver a consistent and seamless high quality of care to our customers. I manage a team of dedicated, hardworking people who strive to deliver a fantastic service.
"Following a highly successful career in welfare to work, recruitment and training, I wanted to look at a fresh challenge, and following some research and numerous conversations ,I believed that the care sector would be a good fit and that I could easily transfer my skills and experience into this role."

With visiting care, you get the flexibility of occasional or frequent visits as well as our expert knowledge that has been acquired in our 30-plus year history. Visiting care starts from just 30 minutes a week to ensure your care is carried out exactly as you would like it, so whether you’d appreciate our compassionate carers’ help with personal care, housework, meal preparation, medication, or so much more, we’ll be there.
You may be reluctant to leave your home and move into residential care if you need full-time support, but with live-in care from Helping Hands, there’s no need! All of your care can be carried out in the comfort and security of your own home, day and night, thanks to your dedicated and professional live-in carer. Additionally, you also get companionship whenever you want it, which will reassure your loved ones that you’re not at home alone and struggling to manage.
Traditional home care agencies will often charge you hidden extras, such as fees for matching you with your carer. They will also often expect your carer to be self-employed, whereas we employ all of our carers directly ensuring they are protected by applicable regulations. Consequently, they get to focus on the most important thing, your care, making us better than an agency in every sense.
Whether you choose to have our visiting service, live-in or a blend of both, domiciliary care will see you being supported to the very highest standards in your own home. Even if you have complex needs or require nursing supervision, we can support you, thanks to our team of Helping Hands clinical nurses. If you’d rather remain in your own home than move into residential care, then we can provide the perfect solution.
