Physio support

Person centred care from my carer

Mary my Carer has many skills, new one just added to her profile, a physiotherapist.

She carefully completes passive exercises on my leg and foot. I used to have a physio assistant come out once a week to do it but I guess with the cut backs other agencies have to pick up the slack. For me it’s better as Mary does it every morning after my shower when my leg is nicely warmed up anyway. I’m sure my leg and foot is better for the extra attention. Also it means I can then get on with the day without having to wait for the physio to call.

The dietician came today to do a quick review. Mary is doing a good job as I have gained a little weight. I have a peg. Medication, feed and water are recommended that go down the feeding tube but I like a coffee and a brandy too. My tube is discoloured but quite functional. I say brandy keeps the tube disinfected.
