In 955, Andover’s name was recorded in Old English as ‘Andeferas’, which is believed to be derived from the Celtic words for ‘ash’ and ‘water’. Nowadays, it is home to Twinings tea, which is a significant upgrade on ash and water.
At Helping Hands Andover, we’re able to provide you with dedicated home care in Andover and the surrounding area from as little as 30 minutes a week. Our compassionate, highly trained carers can support you in any way you might require – from simply chatting over a cup of tea to providing complex support for a range of medical conditions.

As the manager for the Basingstoke Branch, it is my responsibility to ensure that a high quality of care is being delivered and we are offering a safe and effective service to our customers. My job role includes complying with the five KLOES and following CQC guidance to ensure that the service we offer is five stars.
I decided to join the care industry back in 2015 where I started as a carer and the reason behind this is because of the caring nature I have and knowing that I can help others to make a difference or at least contribute to making things easier for others. I am passionate about the care industry and believe that everybody deserves a high standard of care delivered to them.
I am proud of the team at Basingstoke, the carers are always going above and beyond in their job role and always ensuring they put the customers first, the services we offer in Basingstoke are amazing with a wide range of ensuring a person-centred service is delivered.
I have two children, a girl aged 19 and a boy aged 13, I have 2 cats who are definitely part of the family. I do a lot of charity events for my local hospice who supported me and my family whilst my dad was dealing with terminal cancer. He has since passed away. I enjoy spending time with my family and going out with friends.

Hi, I'm Adam and as Regional Care Director, I'm responsible for making sure that all the customers we help are looked after brilliantly. In order to do this, we need to have the very best carers and support teams there for them so that they can thrive within Helping Hands and do what they do best: care. I think we do everything possible to really understand our customers' needs and then do everything possible to find the right carer for them. Our carers do a wonderful job, and they are special people who are 'hardwired' to care.
Our Reviews
Fully regulated by the CQC
Our Andover branch is fully regulated and accredited by the CQC
With home care, you’re in control of your care plan every step of the way. From your very first phone call to us, you’ll be able to make decisions about every aspect of your care plan – no matter how big or small they might be. From the amount and type of care you receive to your meal preferences and bedtimes, your care plan will be customised to fit your specific wishes and requirements and can be adjusted as your needs progress, ensuring you receive a package of care that is perfectly suited to your individual circumstances.
Bespoke live-in care services
If you’re starting to find that regular visiting care isn’t sufficient for your care requirements, you may wish to consider live-in care as an option. Live-in care provides you with round-the-clock care from one of our compassionate, expert carers who will be able to support you day-to-day in whatever way you might need – from personal care and mobility assistance to taking you out and preparing your meals. Having a live-in carer is a great alternative to moving to a residential nursing home because it means you’ll get to stay in the home you love, surrounded by familiar views and furnishings, and you’ll be able to spend more time seeing friends and family.
Better than a care agency in Andover
Choosing your care from Helping Hands is a bit like choosing an expensive car over a mid-priced one. Both will deliver reliable service, but one will always be head and shoulders above the other in performance. That’s the difference with our Andover carers; they’re handpicked to ensure that they share our ethos for providing excellent care in our customers’ homes and putting your safety and comfort at the forefront of everything they do. We’re not - and have never been - a care agency; we were founded as a private home care company back in 1989, and since then we’ve retained our family values and dedication to providing an exemplary service. We employ all of our carers directly too, which you won’t find with an agency; paying above the average and offering perks that keep them motivated and always happy to come to work. That’s the Helping Hands difference.
Emergency care
With emergency care from Helping Hands, you won’t need to panic the next time you unexpectedly find yourself without the support you need. Perhaps you’ve experienced an accident which requires a lengthy recovery period, or your normal carer has let you down and left you completely unsupported. At Helping Hands, we’re normally able to have one of our brilliant carers in your home within 24 hours of your call, meaning your life can continue as normal, and you won’t have to stress about the housework getting done or the dog being taken for a walk.
