Visiting care and home care in Blyth

Conveniently situated near the bustling cities of Newcastle and Sunderland, Blyth is a town with ancient beginnings, focussed on its historic 12th century port, which still thrives to this day. Helping Hands have historic beginnings too, although not quite that far back! We were established in 1989 to support people who wished to receive care at home in the place they wanted to stay, rather than having to relocate to a residential home, and we’ve been doing exactly that ever since. Our local Cramlington branch team are very near and are able to support people across the region, including in Bedlington, Ashington, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, as well as the historic suburbs of Newsham, Bebside and Cowpen. Our visiting and live-in care services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, which should reassure both you and your loved ones that you’ll always be in the best hands.

High quality home care in Blyth

Helping Hands are considered one of the UK’s foremost home care providers, supporting thousands of people a week to remain as independent as possible in the homes they love. Because we’ve been around for so many years, we understand care better than anyone else, as well as what it takes to keep people comfortable and safe. We always help our customers to feel they’re in control of their own lives and offer unrivalled person-centred care, values we’ve had at our core since the very beginning.

    24/7 live in care support

Live-in care is unlike anything else – you get someone living in your home with you around the clock, giving you unparalleled companionship and care. Having live-in care doesn’t just reassure you, it means your loved ones get the comfort of knowing you’re fully supported and never alone – especially if they live far away. Live-in care can consist of mild or complex support, for a range of conditions and circumstances, such as age-related frailties and companionship, through to life-limiting illnesses and end of life support.

Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Blyth

A traditional care agency will charge you a fee to ‘introduce’ you to a carer, but that’s as far as their involvement goes – you’ll be expected handle all of the carer’s employment yourself, or at least be more involved than you’d ideally want to be. Heling Hands isn’t an agency though, and never has been. From the start we were a private home care company who fully employ our own carers and handle all of the legalities so you don’t have to. You pay us, we pay them – simple.

Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Blyth

Not only are our carers fully employed by us so they have access to all the benefits that entails, such as holiday and sick pay, plus a pension scheme, we also assess their skills when they join us and build them a bespoke training programme so they are confident in their ability to support you before they ever come to your home. Once they’re with you they can undertake everything that will have been agreed in your support plan, such as personal care, housework, laundry, meal preparation, and medication support. They’ll also help you to enjoy the local community once more if you like to be out and about.
