When should I choose respite care, and what can a carer help with?

Respite care is short-term care that can be utilised in a number of circumstances. For instance, when your regular carer needs to take a break. Our amazing carers can help with every aspect of your daily routine. This includes housework, personal care, walking the dog, doing the food shop and supporting your mobility. After all, the most important person is you.

Why you may need Bridgend respite care

You may need help to recuperate after a hospital stay, or because you’re recovering at home from an illness or injury. An extra pair of hands around the house while you get back on your feet may be just the solution you were looking for, or while your regular carer takes a well-earned break. We can offer respite care on both a visiting and live-in basis, depending on your preference.

The benefits of breaks for carers in Bridgend

Carer burnout is a very real problem if carers don’t get to take regular breaks. This is true for both family and professional carers, which is why we ensure all of our carers accrue paid holiday from the day they start working for us. If your family members are undertaking most of your support while juggling busy lives they deserve to have some time off, so let us step in and look after you while they relax for a while.

All of our carers possess natural qualities of compassion and kindness; after all, we can train them on practical tasks but not how to care from the heart. We only accept people to work for us who demonstrate their empathy for others, and we ensure they have all the development they need to become confident in their roles. All of our carers undergo a strict background check to ensure you are being looked after by someone you can trust. After all, your safety is our priority.
