Visiting care and home care in Chislehurst

Chislehurst has many interesting features, not least the Chislehurst caves. Originally used to mine flint and chalk, during World War II they were used nightly as an air-raid shelter. Over the years, live music has been played in the caves, with big names like Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, and David Bowie playing there.

While we’ve grown massively since we began in 1989, we’ve never lost sight of our original ethos at Helping Hands and with our visiting and live-in services expertly delivered by amazing carers, we could be making a difference to your life every day too.

A smiling elderly woman opens her front door to a carer who stands outside, holding a shopping bag filled with food and flowers. The scene is bright and welcoming, with greenery visible in the foreground.

Better than a care agency in Chislehurst

We’re better than a home care agency because we have always had the highest standards of care, just as you’d expect from a private home care company. We employ our carers directly and would never insist on self-employment, meaning they are free to concentrate on your care as their number one priority, rather than worrying about completing tax returns or similar.

A carer helps an older man put on a grey dressing gown in a cosy bedroom. The man wears navy blue pyjamas, and there is a framed photo on the chest of drawers and stone walls in the background.
Domiciliary care at home

Domiciliary care, or care at home, is something we’ve been delivering for over 30 years, so you can imagine we are expert in it by now. We offer a comprehensive visiting and live-in service, both of which are designed especially for you depending on your care needs and requirements and are supported by your personalised support plan which will detail exactly how you like things done.

A nurse in a purple uniform sits beside a smiling woman with grey hair, who is lying in bed. The nurse gently holds the woman's hand, offering comfort and support in a warm, softly lit room.
Experienced dementia care

When diagnosed with dementia there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to your care, as you are still an individual and are not defined by the condition. Consequently, you need a dementia specialist home care company who understand dementia care and have over 30 years’ experience in supporting customers to live as independently as possible with dementia, in the home they love most. We can help to explain your options for care in the home you love, when the time comes.

Respite care for emergency cover

Thanks to respite care from Helping Hands you can remain in the home you love for any type of short-term care requirements you may have, such as if your regular carer takes a break, your family are on holiday or you’re recovering from an illness or accident. Don’t go into residential care when you’re reluctant to do so, as even in an emergency we can help, getting care to you within 24 hours as a rule.

Four older adults sit around a circular outdoor table, smiling and raising teacups in a toast. Enjoying Christmas activities for the elderly at home, they share cheerful tea time together in a garden adorned with festive joy.
Elderly care for extra support

When you’re finding that household tasks are becoming more difficult than they used to, why not choose some elderly care from Helping Hands? Our amazing carers will come to your home and support you with every aspect of your daily routine including personal care, housework such as vacuuming and laundry, meal preparation, medication, and supporting you to access the community for shopping and activities if you’d like.
