Supporting you in and around Elmer’s End, Eden Park, Monks Orchard, Hayes and Park Langley.
Until the railway arrived in 1857, Beckenham was a small village, with only a modest population of around 2000, due to most of its land being privately owned and rural. By 1900 though, the population had boomed to 26,000 thanks to the owners selling land for the building of villas.
Helping Hands understands the idea of rapid growth, thanks to unprecedented expansion since we began in 1989. The latest place that we are making our presence felt is in Beckenham, to the west of Bromley, where thanks to our visiting care service you can have a visit from one of our compassionate carers from just 30 minutes a week. Alternatively, our live-in service means you can have a carer with you around the clock, for total reassurance.
“Hi, I’m Hannah. As the Bromley manager, I have a strong duty of care to my customers and my carers in equal measure and strive to provide care based not only on what is needed but what is wanted by each customer on an individual basis.
I’ve worked in care for over seven years now and having spent the last two and a half years working in Birmingham, I’m now back home in Bromley – it’s great to be back!”

Our carers safeguard your wellbeing whenever they’re with you, meaning extra reassurance for both you and your loved ones. They will promote your independence at all times, meaning that our visiting home care service could be just what you need, from only 30 minutes per week. Our carers’ expertise comes from us being one of the UK’s foremost home care providers and the outstanding training we provide to support our carers. They can support you with housework, laundry, personal care, mobility support, medication and taking you to appointments and activities, so if you’d like to play a more active part in your community, we can help.
Our bespoke live-in care means that you’ll never be left wondering who is going to support you. With our live-in care service you will have someone with you around the clock to care for you and provide companionship, and thanks to your personalised support plan you will never be left wondering if your preferences and routines will be respected. We put you firmly at the centre of your own care journey and we never overstep the mark when it comes to your privacy; if you are requiring some solitude or you have friends and family visiting, our carer can ensure that you have time and space to enjoy each other’s company, while they get on with some other aspect of your care, namely housework, laundry or meal preparation for example.
At Helping Hands our carers feel valued, due to being directly employed by us rather than being forced into self-employment like home care agencies often do. That’s just one more thing that sets us apart from agencies, which is why we’re proud to have never been one in all of our 30-year history. Our carers are highly motivated to take the best care possible of our customers, providing bespoke, personalised care that ensures you feel happy, comfortable and secure in your own home.
We’ve been supporting our customers to live their best life possible with dementia for over 30 years, and our dementia care experience means we really are the UK’s number one. Staying in your own home for dementia care can help to reduce confusion and anxiety due to the familiar surroundings, being close to loved ones and precious memories. Our dementia specialist carers will ensure that everything you need is taken care of, thanks to your bespoke plan of care that’s supported by your personalised support plan.
Whether you need emergency care within 24 hours or a short-term solution while your regular carer takes a break, we can help. Respite care from Helping Hands means there’s no need to go into residential care for respite, you can stay at home where you want to be instead. Our dedicated carers come to you so that your care can be delivered exactly as you want it, in the most personalised and bespoke ways possible.
If you’re struggling with household tasks like vacuuming, preparing meals or taking a shower safely, our dedicated carers can make all the difference to your daily life. We can all struggle with certain tasks as we get older, especially if we’re living with frailties too, but with elderly care from Helping Hands, we will be the extra support that you’ve been looking for. Our compassionate carers can undertake all aspects of your care for you so why not talk to us about how we could be supporting you?
Our compassionate and empathetic carers really do go above and beyond to look after our customers which is no surprise, as we train them thoroughly when they join us and also make sure they have opportunities for professional development throughout their career with us. We also screen them all through the Disclosure and Barring Service so you can be sure that only someone who should be in your home, is. Our service is accredited by many of our homecare partners including the Dementia Action Alliance and we’re founder members of the UK Home Care Association, as well as being fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales.
