The name Crewe derives from an Old Welsh word criu, meaning ‘weir’ or ‘crossing’, although it is recorded in the Domesday Book, the great survey of 1086, as Creu.
Although Helping Hands hasn’t been around quite as long as that, we do have a lengthy history dating back to 1989. We really are the homecare specialists because we’ve been supporting people to remain as independent as possible while being cared for within their own home for over 30 years. We can offer either visiting or live-in care that’s tailored around you and your routines, ensuring that your preferences are always followed, and you are consistently at the centre of your own care journey.

My role as Area Care Manager is to oversee the Central region, ensuring that new branches are set up safely and are providing a quality service to customers, and ensuring that branch care managers feel supported in their roles to do this.
I started in care 20+ years ago as a care worker whilst studying at university. This was to gain experience in a customer-facing role and because I have a passion for caring for people with various disabilities. After finishing university, I continued in the care sector as I enjoyed supporting people to live their way in their own home. I worked my way up to a care coordinator, registered care manager and then managing multiple sites as a director of services.
I took on the role at Helping Hands as head of care as their values align with me, the main one being KINDNESS. At Helping Hands, we believe in providing a quality, safe and effective service to our customers and recruiting the best talent to enable us to do this. Just like the customer, we value our staff by being flexible for them and providing them with extensive training to do their role and progress within the organisation; as head of care, this makes me proud to work here!
I champion dignity in care and believe that everyone should be treated with dignity - this is a basic human right and not an added extra.

Reviews and credentials
We are actively collecting and monitoring our reviews and feedback for Crewe to ensure our customers receive the best possible live in and home care service.
At Helping Hands, we’ve supported thousands of our customers to remain in the homes they love and receive care since 1989. We are considered one of the UK’s leading home care companies and we like to think it’s because of our dedication to providing person-centred, high quality care that can be as flexible as our customers need it to be. With care visiting home care starting from just 30 minutes a week, we are able to support people living with most conditions, whether you require companionship, live-in care or nurse-led complex provision. Our carers can support you with personal care, household chores, meal preparation and so much more, including companionship and accompanying you to appointments and activities.
Live-in care in Crewe
If you are contemplating full-time care you shouldn’t presume you have to move from the home you love. Helping Hands can provide around the clock, live-in care in your own home, meaning that you get the highest quality care while still getting to enjoy everything you love about where you live. Perhaps you’ve planted everything in your garden and watched it grow over the decades, or you have other stunning views that have always made your soul rejoice? There is no need to give up what you’ve always loved, as one of our compassionate carers can move into your home with you and provide all the support you need.
Better than a care agency in Crewe
Not being a care agency means you don’t have to pay us referral fees and other costs that agencies often demand, so you get better value care as a result. This also means that our carers feel valued in their role and highly motivated to care for you to the highest possible standards, so if you want you and your carer to be focussing on the only thing that matter which is caring for you, contact us to learn more today.
Dementia care in Crewe
A diagnosis of dementia can be upsetting for both the person and their loved ones, and when the conversation inevitably turns towards future care you need to know that you will be supported by a company who is a dementia specialist. Remaining at home to receive dementia care can be highly beneficial, as being in familiar surroundings can help to reduce confusion and anxiety in some cases, so to discover more about how we could be supporting you to remain in the home you love, call us today.
Respite care for short-term support
Respite care can be very useful when the unforeseen happens, such as an unexpected hospital discharge or your regular carer becoming ill. Short-term support may be necessary for a number of reasons that may cause you to wonder how you or your loved ones will manage, but that’s where Helping hands come in. We can get a carer into your home within 24 hours in the case of an emergency, so the next time you need care at short notice, please give us a call.
Elderly care in Crewe
We all need some extra support as we get older and with elderly care our friendly and helpful carers can make a huge difference to your day-to-day life. They’ll undertake the tasks you’re finding more difficult such as personal care, laundry and housework, meaning that you get to live the life you want while staying in your own home.
Fully-trained carers in Crewe
We’ve always worked tirelessly to provide the highest standards of care possible for our customers, while always maintaining their dignity and independence. Our carers are the beating heart of our service and that’s why we look after them, as we know that will motivate them to look after our customers so well. We train every one of our carers to ensure that they are confident to deliver the high standards of care that we demand, whilst offering opportunities to learn more as their experience grows. We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales and we are proud to be accredited by the Dementia Action Alliance.
