Daventry respite support from Helping Hands
Respite care taking place in your own home is invaluable, as you get the support you need in the place you love best. You may already have a regular carer who means a lot to you, but they need a well-earned break, or perhaps it’s your family who looks after you from day to day. Regardless of who it is, it’s important they get time off to refresh and recharge and that you get a change from time to time. That means you’ll both be looking forward to seeing each other with renewed enthusiasm when your carer returns. Respite care traditionally took place in a care home or residential facility, however staying in your own home can make all the difference to your improved wellbeing. Because Helping Hands have been caring for people since 1989, we really are the homecare experts, and our Daventry care team are no exception.

What is respite care?
Respite care is short-term care that traditionally lasts for a week or two, usually because your regular carer needs to take a break, whether unplanned or expected. This could be because they have been taken ill themselves, or due to you having an illness, accident or discharge from hospital. You may also never have had a carer before, but because you’ve had surgery or been unwell you need some extra support to get you back on your feet. Even if you need emergency care at home we can help, usually getting a carer into your home within 24 hours.

When to choose respite care
You may have a carer that’s loyally been by your side for months or years, but even so they still need to take regular breaks to ensure they stay in the best physical and emotional condition to care for you. Perhaps you’ve never had a carer because you never needed one, but because of an accident or illness you have been in hospital and need extra help to get back on your feet. Our visiting or live-in respite care services will ensure you get all the support you need, for as long as you need.

Respite care services tailored to you
With Helping Hands, you can have respite care at home on either a visiting-care or a live-in-care basis, whichever suits you better. No matter what service you choose, you’ll have excellent standards of care delivered by compassionate carers in a place that means everything to you. Our carers will be able to support you with every aspect of your daily routine, including mobility support, personal care, medication, meal preparation, housework, accessing the community and so much more.

Qualified respite carers in Daventry
Not everyone gets to be a Helping Hands carer; we only choose a fraction of our applicants because we want our carers to be naturally compassionate and empathetic. We look after our carers so that we can be sure they’ll look after you and provide all the support you could require in your own home, and we train them with the skills they’ll need to ensure you live your best life possible. We want to make sure that only people who should be in your home are there, so we DBS check everyone before they begin, and thoroughly screen their backgrounds too. Additionally, we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales to ensure that you and your loved ones can always have confidence in the care you’re receiving.
Call our customer care team today to discover how we could be providing respite care for you in the Daventry area. They’re available seven days a week to talk to you, or if you prefer you can contact us via our website.
