Meet Sue, our Branch Manager
With over seven years of experience providing care within the Eastbourne region, Sue is proud to be a part of her local community. She has worked within care for a long period of time and loves getting out to see the wonderful people her team supports.
Sue says: “Meeting new customers and developing the right care plan for their needs is something I really enjoy.
“I currently have an NVQ level 4 and an RMA qualification and enjoy passing on my knowledge to our carers to ensure that they can give our customers the best possible support in their own homes. I particularly enjoy working with customers with dementia and enjoy hearing their stories of when they were younger.”

Your independence is incredibly important to us, and with live-in care from Sue and her team, you will have the support you need without facing the added disruption or distress which can be caused by moving into residential or nursing care. We’ll work with you to find a suitable carer to live with you in your home so that you have the level of support you need without having to leave the place you know best.
What’s more, we’ll work with you to find a carer that shares your hobbies and interests so you have more than just practical support – you’ll have companionship. Whether you enjoy going for a morning walk along the seafront or exploring the surroundings of South Downs National Park, your carer will be right there with you to enjoy the things that mean the most to you. After all, there is no place like home.
Regardless of your age, condition or requirements, Sue and her team will work closely with you to build a personalised live-in care package that is centred entirely around you. With experience supporting conditions ranging from cerebral palsy to mental health and covering people from the age of 18 all the way up to 100 and beyond, live-in care from our Eastbourne team ensures that you have dedicated, person-centred support that enables you to feel safe and independent at home.

Expert dementia care training for our dedicated team
As one of the leading dementia care specialists in the UK, we understand how important it is to maintain routine and familiarity for someone living with dementia. Our Eastbourne carers complete specialist dementia training that enables them to provide consistency and quality to the individual and their loved ones, ensuring that you have all the support you need throughout each step of your dementia journey.
With over 100 different variants of dementia, understanding the symptoms and learning how to handle each situation can be overwhelming for you and your surrounding family. That’s why Sue and her team are here to offer expert guidance and support for anything ranging from personal care and meal preparation to how to handle a challenging situation.
Elderly care for you or your loved ones
As we grow older, our minds and bodies can often change and they’re not always as quick as they once were – but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we want to make any sacrifices to our independence. With elderly care from our Eastbourne team, we’ll provide you with as much or as little care as you need to feel independent in your own home.
Whether you have been diagnosed with a progressive condition and you are looking for more regular support or you are living alone and would simply like a friendly face to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat with; Sue and her team will be there for you as little or as often as you need them to be.
Respite care for short-term support
We understand that care needs can arise at any given time for any given reason, but here at Helping Hands we believe that you should never have to compromise on the quality of your care. That’s why Sue and her team are here to provide personalised respite care packages that give you high-quality care for as little or as long as you need it.
Whether your usual caregiver is tending to an emergency elsewhere and you are struggling to find an alternative option, or you are due to be discharged from hospital and you don’t feel safe going home just yet, we’ll provide a seamless transition between carers so you can continue to feel fully supported with no detriment to your quality of care.
Award-winning training for our Eastbourne carers
Each of our carers complete a stringent recruitment and training process that enables them to have the knowledge and experience to support your every need. What’s more, they all possess the one quality that is needed to become an excellent carer – they all genuinely care.
Upon completing their fine-tuned recruitment process including full background checks, each of our carers complete a comprehensive training course that covers a variety of modules including moving and handling, safeguarding, medication administration, equality and diversity and many more. So with their expert training and previous industry experience, you can rest assured that you are in safe hands.
Since our inception in 1989, we’ve been providing person-centred home care to thousands of families across the UK. And as a result, we are proud to be the only home care provider to be endorsed as a Centre of Excellence by Skills for Care, and we are also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
I really give caring my all, and it is so lovely to see the reaction I get from my customers. My main concern is making them happy, and doing anything I can to make their lives easier.
