What’s included with live in care in Exeter?

Live in care includes everything from support with the housework and keeping your home clean and tidy to complex care for chronic health conditions. Our carers are trained to support you with personal care, medication and mobilising safely in and around your home and can also support with more intricate care needs such as continence care, PEG feeding and tracheostomies.

And we’re not just there to help with practical needs for yourself and around your home; our carers will be there to provide companionship so that you’re never left feeling lonely or isolated. Whether you fancy a trip to Exmouth for the afternoon to feel the sand between your toes or if you want to bake your favourite cake recipe, your carer will be right there with you.

Do you need care?

There are several different reasons why someone may need care at home, but it is usually when a situation drastically changes and care is required urgently, often when emotions are running high. Our friendly team in Exeter will reassure you that care will be swiftly on its way that takes into account your needs, personality and preferences so that everything is tailored to you.

Short term home care support

You may just need several care calls per week to ensure your cupboards and fridge are stocked up, help to wash your hair or assist you with the vacuuming and changing the bed sheets. Visiting care is ideal for this type of care as it allows you to choose what happens during your care call and have adaptable support that fits in around your life. For those that require additional support during the night, we can also offer overnight care which provides the added reassurance of having someone there when you may be feeling more anxious during the early hours.

Intermittent long term care in the home

Taking a break from work is a vital part of everyone’s routine, and this is even more important for someone that provides full time care for another. You need the time for yourself and to also spend time with your family and children, who you may not have been able to see very much. Respite care from our Exeter team means that you can take a step back whilst we step in a take care for your loved one in a way that fits seamlessly into their existing routine. That way, neither of you will have to worry about anything changing and you can both enjoy some time apart and a change of scenery.

Immediate start home help carers

If you’ve just been discharged from hospital or are recovering from an illness and need urgent support at home, emergency care can help you to feel more like yourself again in the place where you feel most comfortable and safe; your home. There’s no need to move into residential care until you’re feeling better – we can provide care little and often or round-the-clock if necessary, so that you’re never left without the vital care you may need at your time of crisis.

Expert carers in Exeter

Katie and her dedicated team of carers support those in and around the city of Exeter, enabling them to live in a way that is meaningful to them in their own homes. They pride themselves on going the extra mile to care for their customers with respect and dignity, which are key traits that we look for when recruiting for carers.

Once selected, we ensure that they receive an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screening, along with various character references and interviews. And if successful, new recruits are then required to undergo our award-winning training course, which teaches them the skills and knowledge for personal care, medication, safeguarding, moving and handling, first aid and dementia. Regardless of previous experience, our thorough selection and assessment programme ensures all of our carers are all trained to the same high standards, so that you can be sure of the consistency in the ability of any of the carers that come to visit you.
