Home care in Grays
Visiting care and home care in Grays
Conveniently only twenty miles from Central London and less than fifteen miles from the nearest beach, Grays occupies an enviable position between business and leisure. With a history that stretches back to the Palaeolithic period, Grays can even boast a visit from famed diarist Samuel Pepys on the 24th September 1665, where, according to his most prolific publication, he bought fish from the local fishermen.
While Helping Hands can’t boast a history quite that extensive, we’ve nonetheless been delivering the highest standards of care in people’s own homes since 1989. We offer support on both a visiting and live-in basis, and because our services are all fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, we can be as flexible and comprehensive as you need us to be.

Branch Care Manager
My typical working day is never actually typical; although the day to day tasks need to be completed you can never predict what is around the corner! But ultimately, my role is to lead my branch to guarantee that the service that is provided is of the highest standard which ensures that the service is safe for all those involved. My role is to also ensure that my team feel supported and confident in the job they need to deliver; I have a duty to ensure that the service is effective for those that need it. When I am not at work, you’ll often find me cooking up a storm for family and friends. I’m also an avid traveler – recently, I took the plunge and embarked on various solo adventures, something I never thought I’d do before! And yes, I’ll admit it: I have a soft spot for some TV, with Judge Judy / Judy Justice being my guilty pleasure. I love a good crime series too. Socialising and making people feel at ease is my forte. Some people may say I am a perfectionist, but I would say a job done well is a job well done!

Other care we provide
High quality home care in Grays
Helping Hands’ industry-leading home care service delivers support to thousands of people, every single day. We’re the UK’s most widely trusted home care provider which isn’t a surprise, as since 1989 we’ve been providing high quality home care across England and Wales. We’re already well established in the Essex and Thurrock regions, which is why we felt we should expand our services further south to Grays and the surrounding areas.
24/7 live in care support
There’s nothing quite like live-in care. Having someone residing in your home with you, providing 24/7 reassurance that you’re never on your own is priceless, while still being surprisingly reasonable. While you may come across care homes that cost a little less than having care at home, there is nothing better for your physical and emotional wellbeing than staying in familiar and cherished surroundings.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Grays
We’ve never been a care agency – we were founded more than 30 years ago as a private home care company, with exceptional standards of support delivered every day by directly employed carers. This is important because by recruiting, shortlisting, employing, and assessing our carers ourselves, we remain in control of the quality we deliver. This ensures consistent standards across the business, which are followed by every Helping Hands branch in the UK.
Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Grays
Whether you choose visiting care for a few hours a week or live-in care around the clock, our carers will provide you with vital companionship, while ensuring that your daily routine continues uninterrupted. We can support you with personal and continence care, housework, medication, meal preparation, and mobility care, while also undertaking more complex tasks, personalised to you through our exceptional, nurse-led carer training.
