Originally built after the Second World War to accommodate overcrowded Londoners, Harlow is now a cultural hub nestled just outside the capital. Home to a collection of sculptures, scenic patchworks of rich farmland and a sanctuary for 90 horses, ponies and donkeys, Harlow is also home to one of the UK’s leading homecare providers – Helping Hands.

My role at Helping Hands as a Branch Manager is to make sure my customers are receiving safe care and that the visiting carer has the right knowledge of the customers' needs. I also make sure the carers are promoting independence during the time in our customers' homes. It's also my responsibility to make sure my care staff have a safe working environment and to follow regular check-ups of my customers and carers to ensure their wellbeing.
I joined the care industry because I have always liked helping people and making a difference.
I think the service we provide is amazing, I love the fact that my team and myself work together to ensure people can stay in their homes for as long as possible. I think it gives family members peace of mind as well, knowing that we have very well-trained and trusted carers and staff to look after their relatives. Whether it be to give them a break or because they live too far away, we are always sure to keep them informed.
I'm a single mum to a beautiful little girl and I like to spend time with her; we are always going out and some of our favourite things are the zoo and the beach. I used to do dance, cheerleading and gymnastics and it's still something that I'm passionate about. I eventually taught dance and I've performed many times over my career as a dancer in a wide variety of places, such as the Lord Mayor's show, Disneyland, X-factor and as an extra in a few productions.
I spend most of my time away from work with my daughter and family, but I do occasionally go out with my friends. I am a hard-worker and I always put others before myself and I think people see that.

Hi, I am Christien Ingrosso and I'm the Area Care Manager for the South East region.
As an area care manager, it is my role to lead a team of dedicated care experts in and around the London, Essex and South East region to ensure that the service and care we are delivering is to the highest possible standard for all our customers.
I am married and a father of two girls. I enjoy very much spending time with my family and going on walks with my dog, or as some may say he likes to walk me!
I have been fortunate enough to meet some fantastic employees throughout my time at Helping Hands. Each day I witness first-hand the determination and drive that each and all of our carers show to help our customers maintain healthy and independent lives in the familiar surroundings of their own homes.

As the Regional Care Director, it is my role to lead a hugely skilled care team operating in London, Essex and the South East, ensuring the highest levels of care are being delivered to our customers on a daily basis. We have a large branch network equipped to deal with all your hourly care needs, and I am also the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for our live-in program, where we are set up to support you on a more permanent basis.
I am inspired on a daily basis by the true lengths my colleagues go to, to ensure that customers can continue to live long, healthy lives from the comfort of their own homes. This is one of the main reasons that inspired me to join care.
