Home care in Hartlepool
Visiting care and home care in Hartlepool
In the 18th Century, Hartlepool became known for its medicinal springs, with the ferruginous waters rich in salts of iron being celebrated. In July 1765 the poet Thomas Gray visited the town to “take the waters”, and wrote “I have been for two days to taste the water, and do assure you that nothing could be salter and bitterer and nastier and better for you…I have nowhere seen a taller, more robust or healthy race.”
We all know that water is essential to our wellbeing but if you need a little more than that, we can help. Our visiting and live-in care services will support you expertly in your or your loved one’s own home.

Branch Care Manager
As Branch Manager it is my responsibility to ensure the safe and effective day to day management of the branch, providing guidance and support to all branch staff, carers and customers. Within my role I aim to ensure compliance and quality for staff and customers is met in line with CQC standards and legislative requirements. I joined the care industry when my children became independent as I wanted to make a difference to people's lives and enable them to live independently and safely at home. I quickly built up professional relationships in the care sector and enjoyed the role of carer, this then inspired me to climb the career ladder, eventually taking the role of Branch Manager. I am proud to work for Helping Hands as it is a very family-orientated company with high values, plus the training and support is outstanding. I feel my team of carers are compassionate about their role and I am able to guide them along their journey. If I come across any obstacles then I will gain support to enable us to work together as a team. I have been married for 35 years and have 3 children, who have now provided us with 6 grandchildren. I enjoy rugby and support Saint Helens rugby league, and I like to attend the games when I am able to. I also enjoy holidays abroad and spending time with our friends at weekends.

Better than a care agency in Hartlepool
-
Helping Hands is proud to be a private home care company rather than an agency like many other care providers are. It means we can give our customers the highest standards of care possible in their own homes without the inconveniences that a traditional agency imposes on their customers. This includes us directly employing all of our carers to motivate them to feel valued and as a result, they focus on the priorities of your care above all else.

Specialist dementia care
-
Even though you may not need dementia care right away when you’re first diagnosed, as your condition progresses, you need to know that you and your loved ones are being supported by a dementia specialist company with over 30 years’ experience. Remaining in the place you love most can be beneficial when you’re living with dementia, as being in familiar surroundings, close to loved ones and precious memories can often help to reduce confusion and anxiety, so when the time comes for care, talk to the experts.
-
Immediate respite care for relief
-
When the unforeseen happens, such as an unexpected hospital discharge or your regular carer becoming ill, you may need respite care quickly. We can usually get care into your home within 24 hours in such eventualities, but even if it isn’t an emergency, we can still supply you with the highest quality short-term care within your own home. You’ll have the best levels of support until your regular carer returns and they’ll be so good you may not even notice the difference!
-
Supportive elderly care at home
-
As we age, we can become slower at doing certain tasks and others may become impossible, meaning we’re at risk of not being able to look after ourselves properly. Don’t struggle on at home with jobs such as vacuuming, laundry, personal care and meal preparation when one of our friendly carers could be supporting you to live your best life in your own home every day, thanks to our flexible and cost-effective elderly care service.
-
