Whether you’re considering professional home care for yourself or for a loved one, we understand that making the right decision can feel a little daunting. Helping Hands has been a leader in the UK home care industry for more than 30 years now, and in our experience, we know that no two people are the same – and that means the right care for them won’t be, either.
At Helping Hands, each of our carers has been extensively vetted, trained and monitored so they can best deliver the standard of care that we have become known for all across the country. We’re also licensed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England and the Care Inspectorate (CIW) in Wales, which means you can rest assured the service you receive from us will always be top notch.
Our specialty is to provide compassionate, professional home care in of the highest quality, delivered at home, according to your unique needs. Our philosophy is to be flexible and work around your daily routine and lifestyle, so you receive the support you need to live your best life. We offer both visiting care as well as live-in care or overnight options, but can also step in on a more intermediate basis for respite care or emergency cover.
Whatever your needs, our compassionate staff are there to make it all happen, so you have one less thing to worry about. We can assist with daily household activities, personal grooming, errands like shopping, organising medications, pet care, meal prep or mobility as you go about your normal day. Of course, we think the personal touch makes all the difference, which is why our carers are there for practical but also emotional support. Sometimes, what’s most needed is a friendly chat and some tea and cake in the kitchen.
If you are already receiving professional care or are a carer yourself, you’ll know that the best laid plans sometimes do go awry. Helping Hands is there to help when an ordinary care is not available – we can send a skilled carer over within 24 hours so you can do what you need to while we take care of things at home. You can feel confident that the day’s activities will carry on as normal, for as long you need us, so that you can pick up exactly where you left off when you return. Respite care workers can also provide extra support during convalescence, post-surgery or in the event of an accident. Another pair of hands can make all the difference!
Many of our customers are hesitant about seeking professional elderly care because they very much value their independence and love where they live. Home care is an excellent alternative to moving to a residential care home since there’s very little disruption to the familiar routines and way of life. A Helping Hands carer can offer support from as little as 30 minutes per week, to round-the-clock care – it all depends on you and what you need to live your most independent, comfortable life.
Many of our carers have undertaken specialist training to better offer appropriate support for those seniors living with memory loss or dementia. Dementia can be a challenging condition, and care needs can change with time. Our dementia carers are attentive and patient, and have the experience and know-how to maintain a consistent presence in your loved one’s life while simultaneously adapting to changing daily needs.
We also offer overnight or nurse-supported care for greater peace of mind, and can even coordinate a dedicated team of overlapping carers to ensure your loved one is always being taken care of, 24-7. We know how important trust is when it comes to excellent care, which is why we only work with specially selected and trained staff that are directly employed by us, and not agency staff.
Our carers come in all shapes and sizes but each of them is dedicated to not only completely understanding their customer’s needs, but to doing their utmost to provide care that suits them best. We take the time to carefully assign our carers to the people we know they’ll love caring for, and we believe it’s this tailored, flexible approach that’s behind our stellar reputation in the industry.
