Visiting care and home care across Portishead

A coastal town situated just 10 miles from historical Bristol, Portishead became well-known after a popular Bristol band named themselves after the town in the 1990s. And as an area that has grown significantly with new homes, restaurants and shops, there’s another new addition to the expanding seaside town – a friendly team of Helping Hands carers.

From 30 minutes a week to full-time live-in support, the team in Portishead are here to provide dedicated, individually tailored home care across Sheepway, Clapton-in-Gordano, West Hill, Redcliff Bay, Walton Bay and the surrounding areas.

Home care Portishead

We understand that approaching the discussion of care can be distressing for all involved, especially if you or your loved ones feel that residential care isn’t the ideal solution for you. Equally, we appreciate how much of a positive impact your home comforts can have on your wellbeing, especially if you are living with a progressive condition, or have recently acquired a life-changing illness or injury. Fundamentally, home is where the heart is – that’s why our Portishead team are here to provide professional, person-centred visiting care that gives you the support you need to feel safe and independent in the comfort of your own home.

As experts in the home care industry for over 30 years, we understand exactly what it takes to provide high-quality care; that’s why our support packages are completely tailored to you and your individual needs and preferences. With bespoke home care from our Portishead team, you and your loved ones have peace of mind that you have the exact level of support you need, in the place you feel most comfortable.

Live-in care for constant peace of mind

When the need arises for more intensive support, we understand that residential care isn’t always the ideal solution. That’s why we provide compassionate and individually tailored live-in care that provides you with the support you need, whenever you need it.

The great thing about live-in care is that your private carer is completely committed to you and your needs, which means that they have the time and the flexibility to support you at your pace. With gentle encouragement and support, your live-in carer will be there to alleviate your worries and enable you to live your life safely and independently at home – just with a little help along the way.

Domiciliary care to support you in Portishead

Also known as visiting care, domiciliary care from our Portishead team gives you complete freedom and autonomy over the care you receive. Whether you’re looking for regular visits to help you with getting washed and dressed for the day, someone to accompany you for your morning walk along the beach or overnight stays to help you get a peaceful night’s rest – our expert team of carers are here to support you with whatever it is you need.

Specialist dementia care tailored to you

For lots of people living with dementia, the most important things are comfort and familiarity; that’s why compassionate, person-centred home care from our Portishead team is the ideal solution to support you or your loved one living with dementia. With a bespoke support plan that is built by and around you and your family, you have peace of mind that the dementia care we provide is exactly what you need to feel safe, supported and comfortable at home.

There can also be lots of uncertainties surrounding a dementia diagnosis – we understand. But here at Helping Hands, we’re not just here to help with the practical things; we’re here to provide information, guidance and support that can bring comfort to all of you as a family, helping you to gain understanding amongst these uncertainties and live well with dementia.

Elderly care that keeps you safe at home

As we age, we can often start to find a little more difficulty in getting up and about, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to sacrifice our independence to accommodate that. Our Portishead elderly care team will work closely with you and your loved ones to build an individual support plan that enables you to continue living safely and independently at home.

At Helping Hands, our care is so much more than just practical support. With more and more people experiencing loneliness in their elderly years, companionship care is a great way for you to have the practical support you need, whilst enjoying your time with a friendly face along the way. So, whether you’d simply like for someone to pop in for a cup of tea and a chat every now and again, or a friendly shoulder to lean on as you enjoy a day out in Bristol – we’re here for you.

Respite care for as long as you need it

It may be that you are a carer for a friend or loved one and you’re in need of some rest and recuperation; or perhaps you’d like to pay a visit to nearby Weston-super-Mare for the weekend but you feel like you could use some additional support whilst you’re away from home. Our Portishead team are here to provide bespoke respite care packages that give you the support you need, for as long as you need it.
