Helping Hands is proud to say that we have been one of the UK’s leading home care organizations for more than 30 years now. We are accredited by the Care Quality Commission in England and the Care Inspectorate in Wales (CIW), who routinely monitor us so that we continue to uphold our high standards of care. We’ve earned several accreditations and awards that speak to our passion for truly outstanding home care service, but we are especially thrilled with being the only home care agency to be designated a Centre of Excellence.
We believe our strength lies in our carers, who we know are the most compassionate and experienced professionals in the industry. Helping Hands doesn’t work with agency staff, but directly employs carers that we handpick for their dedication and willingness to go above and beyond to make someone’s day a little brighter.
Our specialty at Helping Hands is care that is completely personalized to you and your unique care needs. We know that no two situations are the same, so we always begin by trying to understand your personality, preferences, and habits so we can best anticipate the support you most need from us. Broadly, we can offer either live-in care or visiting care, where we come to your home at fixed intervals starting from as little as half an hour per week.
We also provide respite care for shorter periods, emergency care that can begin within 24 hours of you getting in touch with us, overnight care, nurse-supported care or care that focuses on your unique health needs. The service you receive can include help with ordinary household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and pet care, but also assistance with mobility, personal grooming tasks like washing and dressing, or sorting out prescriptions and daily medications.
Our respite care services are designed for those people seeking temporary care in the event that the normal carer is not available. We know that sometimes plans do change, but that doesn’t mean that your loved one shouldn’t continue to receive the care they’re used to. If you’re a carer who’s fallen ill, or needs to take a few days to sort out a family emergency, we’re at hand to make sure everything at home runs smoothly, so you have one less thing to worry about.
Naturally, carers also need time now and again to go on holiday or take a break to recharge their batteries, and respite care is a great choice in that case. Alternatively, respite care can be a godsend over busy holiday periods, after surgery or in the days and weeks after an illness, where it’s useful to have a few extra hands on deck.
While moving to a residential care home facility is always an option, we understand that not every senior feels this is appropriate for them, especially if they value their independence and love the homes they live in. We feel that elderly home care works so well because you can decide on the level of care that suits you best, whether that’s a weekly visit for a cup of tea and a little help around the house, or daily live-in care that provides more comprehensive support.
Elders living with dementia naturally have more specific care needs that we are more than happy to accommodate in any way we can. The physical, mental and emotional symptoms of conditions such as Alzheimer’s are best supported by those with the right professional experience and training. While our dementia carers are all very different people, they have in common the genuine desire to offer comfort, reassurance and companionship to those who need it most, and serve as a source of familiarity and stability in what can be a very disorienting condition.
Unlike the one-size-fits-all care you might receive at a care facility, we can guarantee that we will only ever offer you the support and attention that best fits you and your unique lifestyle. We work hard to understand and even pre-empt all our customer’s needs, because at the end of the day we want to make a real difference to people’s lives in whatever way we can. It’s this passion for providing sincere, human care that we believe makes us one of the best choices for home care in Windsor.
