Live-in care and visiting home care in Yorkshire & the Humber
Our flexible live-in care services are available across Yorkshire and the Humber, including York, Wetherby, Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Scarborough, Harrogate and the surrounding areas. We enable people to receive the finest high-end care, to live comfortably and independently within their own homes, surrounded by friends, family pets and personal belongings, avoiding a move into a residential care home.
Whether you need full time live-in care, short term respite, convalescence or are planning for your long term care, or you simply require just a single call per day, we will be able to work around your needs. Carers can live with your loved one in their own home, or visit as frequently as you need, from 30 minutes through to longer “sit” sessions that may take most of the day or even help during the night.
Helping Hands has been providing exceptional home care since 1989 and is still proudly family owned and run. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are committed to providing an unparalleled care service, ensuring we meet the highest possible standards of quality home care. Helping Hands live-in care packages are tailored personally to your care needs. We work with doctors, nurses and many private & NHS hospitals such as Leeds General Infirmary, Hull Royal Infirmary & Castle Hill Hospital, Bradford Royal Infirmary, Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, Pontefract General Infirmary, York Hospital, Scarborough Hospital, Harrogate District Hospital to deliver home care that meets your exact requirements.
We carefully match you with a fully trained carer who will live with you in your home, supporting you with your day-to-day needs and even being on call overnight. Whether it’s helping with personal care, going to the toilet, help taking medication, housekeeping or moving round the house, many of our carers become a lifeline to our customers, enabling them to live the way they want every day.
If you have an acquired or progressive medical condition or have been recently injured and need support around the home, one of our nurse-led carers can give you the extra support you need. If your medical condition requires that you take medication in the middle of the night, one of our carers can be there to remind you to take it and help to administer it.
Most importantly, we carefully manage the entire process for you, from start to finish so you don’t have to!
Meet Mandy, our Regional Care Director
"As the Regional Care Director for the north, I am responsible for all types of care delivery to our customers - whether it be live-in care or our hourly service. My role involves ensuring that our carers deliver a consistent and seamless high quality of care to our customers. I manage a team of dedicated, hardworking people who strive to deliver a fantastic service.
"Following a highly successful career in welfare to work, recruitment and training, I wanted to look at a fresh challenge, and following some research and numerous conversations ,I believed that the care sector would be a good fit and that I could easily transfer my skills and experience into this role."
A gentle, sensitive, caring, extremely careful, thorough and professional carer, whom I totally trust. She is just amazing and I felt utterly safe with her within hours.

Friendly, expertly trained, qualified carers across Yorkshire & the Humber
The idea of welcoming a new person into your home and life may seem a little daunting and unsettling at first. With a handpicked live-in carer, that’s matched perfectly to you, your life can stay much the same as before. We walk you through each step of the way and place up most importance on matching you with someone you feel the most comfortable with and who understands your routines, likes and interests.
Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence where they develop a wide knowledge of personal through to complex condition-led care. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in on-going training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements. All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.
Giving time to those who need support is something truly special. It’s not something that can be taught in a text book.
