Laundry and cleaning

Where do you need care?

We can provide care in your home anywhere in England & Wales

Help with the laundry and cleaning the house

When you’re constantly on the go, it’s understandable that the household chores get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. With laundry and cleaning services, that little extra help can really make a difference.

Maybe you’re juggling work and life commitments or just don’t have enough hours in the day. With a professional assistant to support with cleaning the house, washing and drying clothes and even doing the ironing, all of this and more can be taken care of for you. – and always following your instructions and personal preferences.

As a fully regulated service, you have the peace of mind that each of our assistants are carefully selected, directly employed by us and have passed our industry-endorsed training. They each go through a series of strict checks before joining our team.

What cleaning services are covered?

It’s always nice to come home to a clean house, especially if you’ve been out working all day. Household chores are probably the last thing on your mind after a long shift at the office, but our housekeepers will take care of all that for you.

We can provide assistance with tending to a range of light household duties, such as:

  • Washing up and drying dishes – or stacking and emptying the dishwasher – and putting pots and crockery neatly away
  • Cleaning work surfaces in the kitchen, plus the hob and wiping the fridge
  • Cleaning bathrooms including the toilet, sink, shower and bath
  • Vacuuming living areas, skirting boards, and bedrooms ready for when you come home
  • Polishing tables and dusting shelves, windowsills and lampshades

Laundry support to suit you

A full laundry bin can sometimes creep on you quite quickly. A housekeeping assistant can take care of this on a designated weekly ‘laundry day’, or help you to keep on top of things at regular times each week.

Laundry services can include:

  • Stripping beds and collecting dirty towels from around the house
  • Sorting clothes and other laundry ready for the washing machine, such as whites and dark colours
  • Emptying the washing machine and drying clothes, whether on the washing line, on indoor clothes maidens or in a tumble dryer
  • Handwashing any delicate clothes
  • Ironing clothes and either hanging them in wardbrobes or folding them neatly in drawers

Flexible help with cleaning and laundry

Your home is your castle and so it’s natural you will want things done in a certain way. After an initial meeting with your local Helping Hands manager to establish your requirements, your personal assistant can visit at set times and will always respect your personal preferences.

Arranging additional support can help you to get a sense of routine and order if you feel you’re becoming overwhelmed by the number of duties you need to keep track of. Even if it’s just an hour in the morning to put the dishwasher on and wipe down the surfaces, a little extra help can go a long way.

Because our cleaning and laundry services are flexible to suit your requirements, you still have complete control over what support you receive. Priorities can change each day or each week, so it means you can ask your assistant to focus on the tasks that are more important at that particular time.

Home help following an operation

When you’re ready to come home after an operation or a period in hospital, the laundry is sure to be the last thing on your mind. Recovering from an operation should be a time for recuperation, rather than juggling household chores.

With a dedicated assistant to tend to any chores you need, you can concentrate on your recovery and getting back to full fitness. And if you’re finding that you need a high level of support then you might want to look at having a more permanent support solution.

That’s where our live-in housekeepers can help. Carefully selected based on your requirements and preferences, she or he will be there to support, whether that’s first thing in the morning, later in the afternoon or in the evening.

A temporary live-in carer can be a great source of extra help, support and companionship, even assisting or encouraging you with any prescribed physiotherapy exercises and keeping you mobile and safe around the home.

Thorough background checks and dedicated support

Help with the laundry and household tasks is carried out by a professional team who are all dedicated to making your life a little easier.

We know it can be difficult accepting and bringing in additional help, which is why we make sure all of our assistants not only have the skills to keep your home in tip-top condition but will be someone you can trust and even have a chat and a cup of tea with.

Every member of our team goes through an extended DBS and background check to give you peace of mind that your home is being taken care of when you’re out seeing to other commitments. And should your needs change or you feel that you need a little more help, your own local manager will be there to take you through the process.

Looking after the house is an ongoing commitment, something which our assistants have in abundance. They are on hand any day of the week, at a time that fits in around your work or family life, and are all committed to making your home a clean, comfortable place to live.
