Live-in and home care to support you in Cheltenham

When writing about his visits to Cheltenham, Charles Dickens said: “Rarely have I seen such a place that so attracted my fancy.” A spa town that is famous for its Regency town houses, stunning gardens and residency of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), Cheltenham is also home to one of the UK’s leading home care providers – Helping Hands.

Our specialist team in Cheltenham offer a variety of different home care options that can start from as little as 30 minutes per week with visiting care to support with household tasks and everyday activities, all the way up to full-time live-in care. Having a private carer live with you may be preferable if you need round-the-clock support or clinical care needs, but don’t want to move into a care home and leave loved ones and pets behind.

Meet the team

India Hickey

Meet India Hickey, our Branch Care Manager, Home Care Cheltenham

My responsibilities at Helping Hands is to manage a team, both office and care staff, to deliver a high standard of care to those individuals we support in their own homes. I’m responsible for recruiting the carers we introduce to our customers as well as working closely with other health care professionals to ensure we gain holistic knowledge of those we support and can assist them regardless of their age/needs/conditions. It's really important for me to have great communication with our customers and their families so they feel reassured and know who they can contact. Arranging to visit face to face and being in contact at regular intervals makes it possible for us to tailor the support we provide to meet their needs, which is extremely vital. We are fortunate enough to have autonomy of who we employ as carers and as a result, we’ve built a brilliant and compassionate care team to be the face of our branch and they are the type of people who, if my relatives needed assistance, I’d be reassured if they were involved in their care. I live with my boyfriend and our two dogs. I spend most of my spare time walking our dogs, enjoying the amazing countryside where we live in the Cotswolds. I enjoy being outside and active and I play netball for a team in Cheltenham. My friends and family are important to me and I try to spend as much time with them as possible.

Home Care Agency Cheltenham

Our high-quality agency and home care services are delivered in our customers’ homes by dedicated and compassionate carers and supported by a team of local managers across the whole of England and Wales. We always consider your care to be our highest priority and we’re proud to say we’re not a care agency and never have been – we’re a private home care company who value our amazing carers for the incredible support they deliver. This also keeps them highly motivated to make sure every single aspect of your daily routine is supported. An introductory agency makes you pay a fee to be introduced to a carer who you employ, pay and manage yourself, but with Helping Hands we will handle all of that for you, leaving you and your carer to focus on you.

Live-in care Cheltenham

When the need for more intensive support arises, we understand that residential care isn’t always everybody’s preference. What’s more, we understand how important it is for you to be able to feel secure and independent in your own home. With live-in care from our Cheltenham team, not only will you have the support you need to stay within the comfort of your own home, but you will be encouraged to live the life that you want to lead.

And we’re not just here to support you with the practical things; your mental wellbeing is important to us too. So whether you enjoy popping in to the luxury shops along the promenade or listening to the thunderous sounds of the horses at the Gold Cup, your live-in carer will support you through whatever it is you need, and they will be your friend along the way too.

If you are living with a complex condition and you require more intensive support, we also have an expert team of clinical nurses to support our live-in carers. So, if you require feeding with a PEG tube or you need regular assistance with your stoma or catheter, the team will provide a personalised care package for you that enables you to live comfortably at home.

Private care Cheltenham

We understand how important it is that you remain in control of your home care, which is why the Birmingham team can provide the perfect privtae care package so that you can maintain your usual routine.

Otherwise known as care at home, this level of care will allow you to have the freedom to choose the assistance that you need, when you need it. Regular home visits, from 30 minutes through to several hours a day, can be arranged with our Birmingham team to help you with a variety of everyday tasks, including personal care, housekeeping tasks and clinical care, including catheter and stoma management and PEG feeding.
