Visiting care and live-in care in Ashton-under-Lyne

The cotton industry revolutionised Ashton’s fortunes in 1769. Thanks to the burgeoning transport network there was an economic boom in cotton spinning, weaving, and coal mining, and while these have declined since the mid-20th century, Ashton is still considered a centre for commerce.

We understand the importance of continually updating and improving, as over the past 30 years we haven’t sat back on our laurels, we’ve continually strived so that our visiting and live-in care services became examples of excellence in care.

Meet the team

Karen Pearson

Meet Karen Pearson, our Branch Care Manager, Ashton-under-Lyne

Hello, I'm Karen and I'm the Branch Manager for Stalybridge. My responsibilities and values are to ensure that we deliver person-centred care for all individuals, identifying any client-specific needs they may require support with in their day-to-day living. Our aim is to deliver high-quality care with the right level of support, dignity and respect needed for our customers to remain as comfortable and as independent as possible in their own homes. I enjoy my role as I love to meet new people, build good relationships with the families we support, and I can ensure they are receiving the quality of care and service that everyone deserves. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also spend a lot of time attending concerts, festivals and music events.

Home care in Ashton-under-Lyne

Choosing visiting care from Helping Hands means you get a dedicated carer supporting you as much or as infrequently as you need us, from just 30 minutes per week. We’ve been delivering excellence in home care since we were founded in 1989, so if you’d like support with medication, personal care, meal preparation, mobility, housework and so much more, we can help, regardless of the complexity of your condition.

Ashton-under-Lyne live-in care

When you have one of our amazing carers living with you in your own home, you get the best of both worlds. You receive around the clock support from a dedicated carer who will do everything they can to help you live your best possible life, and discretion when you need some time to yourself or if you have visitors come and see you. Talk to us about live-in care today.

Better than a care agency in Ashton-under-Lyne

When you have care from an agency, you’ll probably find they bill you for things you weren’t expecting, such as introducing you to a suitable carer or other ‘hidden extras.’ At Helping Hands, we consider that all part of the inclusive service and we keep our pricing structure and billing procedures transparent and easy to understand, so you won’t be given any nasty surprises when your bill arrives.

Independent domiciliary care

Domiciliary care, or care that you receive in your own home means that you get to live as independently as possible while receiving all the essential care you need. It’s so much better than moving to a residential home because you get to live by your own routine, you don’t have set meal times (unless you want them), you’re always in comforting and familiar surroundings, meaning you’ll always be in control.

Specialist dementia care at home

Living with dementia isn’t easy, which is why it’s so important to have a dementia specialist company providing your care, if the time comes that you require it. It’s a good idea to have conversations with your loved ones about care sooner rather than later, so that further along your dementia journey your wishes will be able to be carried out. Remaining in your beloved home for dementia care can benefit you physically as well as emotionally too.

Respite care for short-term support

When you need short-term support and want to remain at home rather than going into residential care, why not choose respite care from Helping Hands? Your dedicated carers will ensure that you have all the support you need to aide your recovery while your personalised support plan will ensure your routines and preferences are always followed and even in an emergency, we can get a carer to you within 24 hours.

Elderly care for extra support at home

We can struggle with everyday tasks as we get older, often due to age-related frailties, arthritis, or a long-term condition. That’s where elderly care from Helping Hands can make all the difference to your daily life. Our amazing carers can come to your home and support you with a variety of different daily tasks that can make your life much easier, such as personal care, preparing meals, medication, mobility, housework, laundry and so much more.

Fully trained carers in Ashton-under-Lyne

Our carers are the real heart of Helping Hands because of their selfless dedication to their customers and how they go above and beyond every single day to ensure they get to live their best lives possible in the homes they love. While we train our carers well when they join us, we also expect them to have a naturally caring and empathetic nature, as that’s something that no amount of training can teach. We’re also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know you can trust our high standards of care delivery.
