During the late 18th century, the main occupations in Batley were farming and weaving but when the Industrial Revolution arrived in 1796 and over the next few decades the population began to grow rapidly, from around 2,500 at the start of the 19th century to 9,308 in 1851.

As the Regional Care Director for the north, I am responsible for all types of care delivery to our customers - whether it be live-in care or our hourly service. My role involves ensuring that our carers deliver a consistent and seamless high quality of care to our customers. I manage a team of dedicated, hardworking people who strive to deliver a fantastic service.
Following a highly successful career in welfare to work, recruitment and training, I wanted to look at a fresh challenge, and following some research and numerous conversations, I believed that the care sector would be a good fit and that I could easily transfer my skills and experience into this role.
