Since our foundation in 1989 we’ve cared for our customers all across England and Wales so it’s no surprise that we’re considered the home care specialists. We support our customers to live their best lives possible in the comfort and safety of their own homes and because we’re fully regulated by the CQC and CIW you can be confident in our exceptional service. Why not talk to us today about how we could be supporting you or your loved ones at home?
We can support you in and around Batley, Carlinghow, Birstall Smithies, Copley Hill, Birks, Littletown, Westfield and the surrounding areas.
During the late 18th century, the main occupations in Batley were farming and weaving but when the Industrial Revolution arrived in 1796 and over the next few decades the population began to grow rapidly, from around 2,500 at the start of the 19th century to 9,308 in 1851.
At Helping Hands, we understand rapid growth, as we’ve gone from one branch in 1989 to well over a hundred today. Thanks to our visiting and live-in care services we can support anyone who needs us, regardless of the complexity of their condition.
"Hello, I'm Bethany and as the manager for the Leeds branch I am responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of our service. I ensure that all care packages are covered, all carers feel confident through regular training and one-to-ones and that we are compliant with the CQC.
"I am originally from a mining town in the North East and then I moved to North Yorkshire in 2014.
"I joined Helping Hands in 2016 with the York branch and have held various roles within my time here. Originally, I started as full time carer whilst studying at university. I then returned from maternity leave and began my role as field care supervisor. I was then promoted to care coordinator, which I did for almost two years and thoroughly enjoyed, before being successful as branch manager for Leeds."
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

At Helping Hands, we’re better than a home care agency because of our values we’ve had since we began more than 30 years ago. We still live by those values now and deliver care to our customers to the very highest standards while promoting their independence. We don’t just look after our customers though; we support our carers too, as that ensures that they feel valued and are motivated to work hard supporting our customers to live their very best life at home.
We’ve specialised in domiciliary care since 1989, delivering care to our customers in the comfort of their own homes. We really are the homecare experts, as for over 30 years we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that our customers get exactly what they need to live their best lives possible, such as help with meal planning and preparation, medication support and personal care. Our live-in and visiting services both offer superlative care to our customers, while your personalised support plan means your routines and preferences will always be followed.
With our 30 years of dementia care experience, we can be with you every step of the way as your condition progresses. You may not need dementia care right away, but our specialist carers can support you to remain in the home you love, close to loved ones and precious memories, which can benefit your emotional as well as physical wellbeing and therefore help to reduce levels of anxiety and confusion. Our expert dementia carers can support you to create, preserve and reflect on memories while living your best life possible at home.
If you’re concerned about going into residential care when you need some extra support, respite care can help, because our carers come to you. Your regular carer might need a break or perhaps you’d like to take a holiday and need someone to go with you. If you’re concerned about having someone different caring for you then we can guarantee a continuity of care that will feel as if your regular carer never left. When necessary we can usually get care to you within 24 hours, especially in an emergency.
Elderly care from Helping Hands can make all the difference to the way you cope with household and personal tasks at home. Our compassionate carers can help you with personal care, to clean your house, prepare nutritious meals and so much more, and with our bespoke packages of care accompanied by your personalised support plan, you will always have the way you like things done respected.
We believe our carers are fantastic, going above and beyond to ensure that our customers live their best lives possible in the homes they love. We look after our carers because we value them so highly, as they really are the heart of our business and make such a difference to the lives of our customers. We train our carers thoroughly and because we’re fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and the Care Inspectorate Wales, you can be very confidence in the standards of service we deliver.
