The 1980s gave us many impressive achievements, but one of the most notable must be the inception of Helping Hands at the end of the decade! Caring for thousands of customers over our 30+ year history, we really are the home care specialists, so why not give us a call to discover how we could be supporting you or your loved ones? We’re also fully regulated by the CQC and CIW so you’ve nothing to lose and everything to gain when you choose care from us.
We cover everywhere in the Bilston area, including Bradley, Ettingshall, Stow Heath and Lanesfield.
Bilston is a market town in Wolverhampton, mentioned as a village in the Domesday Book called Billestune. It was largely a rural area until the 19th century. While Helping Hands can’t claim a history as far back as 1086, we do have over 30 years of experience behind us and we continue to go from strength to strength. We’ve supported thousands of customers since 1989 and we are considered one of the UK’s foremost homecare companies because of it. We offer visiting and live-in care to our customers, or a blend of the two services, and we can produce a bespoke care package for anyone looking for care.
"I have worked in care for 25 years and started my care career in Cornwall where I worked with adults with learning disabilities. When I moved back to Wolverhampton, I continued to work in this sector and progressed to a senior carer in domiciliary care. I have been a registered manager for the last three and a half years.
"I have two children and most of my time outside of work is spent with them. I enjoy spending time in the garden, and since lockdown I have taken a keen interest in gardening and baking."
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.
Over 160 branches across the UK means we're local to you
We are not an agency - we employ every carer directly
Get to know your carer before care starts
Family-run and experts in home care since 1989
Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
Visiting care consists of one of our compassionate carers coming to your home and providing support with whatever you need in your day-to-day life. This could be helping you out of bed, to use the bathroom, mobility support, medication, meal preparation and so much more. Our carers can also support with housework and laundry, or if you are bed-bound. Regardless of the condition you’re living with or whether you have few or complex needs, we can help.
Whether you are living with more complex needs that require your care to be supervised by one of our clinical nurse team, or you would just like some companionship at home, there are many reasons why our customers choose live-in care. Having someone in the house with you at all times can be hugely reassuring for both you and your loved ones, however our carers will never make you feel that your home has been ‘invaded’; they will know when you want peace and quiet and when you’re in the mood to chat!
Choosing Helping Hands over a home care agency is a very sensible move, because we will never charge you hidden fees, retainers or other costs that weren’t in your original plan. We directly employ all of our carers, as opposed to other care agencies, meaning that they’re not going to have to be filling in time-consuming self-employment paperwork or worse, you will be! You just need to concentrate on being cared for while your carer can always put you first. It’s a win-win situation!
Being diagnosed with dementia can rock the foundations of a person’s world, leading them to worry about the future and ultimately, who will care for them. With Helping Hands though care is the one thing we can set your mind at ease about, as our compassionate carers will come to your or your loved one’s home and deliver the highest quality care in the place they love most. Staying at home for dementia care can be beneficial, due to the familiarity of the surroundings helping to reduce confusion and anxiety, so talk to our Bilston team today about dementia care at home.
Respite care can be a useful service for many reasons, not least if your carer needs to take their regular holiday and you’re looking to cover that gap. Perhaps your family want you to go on holiday with them, but you’re worried about managing while you’re away? By taking one of our respite carers with you, you get to enjoy the holiday knowing that your family can relax as well. What if you don’t get any warning that you’ll suddenly be without care, due to a family emergency or your carer being taken ill? In those circumstances we can have care in place for you within 24 hours, so you will always be covered.
When you’re feeling that tasks aren’t as easy as they used to be, why not talk to us about some elderly care at home? As we age, tasks can become more difficult to undertake, so if you feel you could benefit from some support, we can help. Our carers will be able to support with housework, personal care, meal preparation, mobility support and much more, so why not talk to us about it today?
Our carers are one in a million as the care they provide for our customers is second to none. We hold our carers in the highest regard as without them we’d have no business, so we make sure they’re looked after too. We provide comprehensive training when they join us and make sure they have opportunities to develop throughout their employment, leading to higher rates of motivation and feelings of value for their work, which ultimately benefits our customers. We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, as well as being accredited by the UKHCA, Dementia Action Alliance and many more, so you can be confident in our experience and our abilities to care for you to the highest standards.
