Our Cannock team are care professionals dedicated to upholding the values that have been woven into the Helping Hands ethos throughout our 30 years of providing support to the homes of vulnerable people. We believe that care should be delivered with kindness, empathy and compassion, and these traits enable us to maintain the high standards we work towards in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines.
Our visiting carers support people across Cannock, Armitage, Chasetown, Croxall, Elmhurst, Four Crosses, Hurley, Tamworth, Two Gates, Wiggington and the surrounding areas. Branch Manager Michelle and her team of carers and coordinators are available to meet each customer and establish a care plan that is completely tailored to their individual needs.
What was formerly a small, rural community until the increase in mining, Cannock is now the largest town on Cannock Chase in Staffordshire. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Cannock is now home to a dedicated team of carers from one of the leading home care providers in the UK – Helping Hands.
Our carers are available to provide support as little or often as you need. With a weekly visit to help around the house, multiple daily visits to cook meals, or a live-in carer for support around the clock, your Helping Hands carer will be on hand to help as part of a package tailored to you.
“Hello, I’m Denny, area manager for Helping Hands’ Central region. It’s my responsibility to meet with customers to gain feedback on a regular basis and ensure that they are happy with our service, to meet potential new customers face-to-face and to manage a wonderful team of visiting carers, supporting them with supervisions and appraisals. I am also a Dementia Champion, which has really developed my understanding of support and supervision for those working with, and living with, the condition. ”
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

We understand that every person’s care requirements are different; that’s why we tailor each visiting care package to suit the individual and their needs and preferences. From calls as short as 30 minutes through to a sitting service that lasts all day or even overnight, we can provide the perfect care plan for you and your needs.
Visiting carers are trained to manage and help with medication, mobility issues, household tasks such as cooking and cleaning, companionship and even complex care needs. Depending on your own personal situation, we can create a personalised care package providing exactly what you need to be able to live your life how you want to.
We fully understand the changeability of care needs. That’s why we offer respite support – be that to cover family emergencies, a hospital discharge or double-up calls to support a live-in carer. If you are the main carer for a relative or loved one and in need of some respite, we can provide short term home care visits to cover your well-deserved break.
Live-in care is often a great alternative to residential care for those wanting to maintain their independence and stay at home for as long possible. It is a brilliant support method for those needing more continual care, and our live-in carers are able to provide companionship, household support, complex palliative care and everything in between.
Every single one of our live-in carers across Cannock and the rest of the UK have been extensively trained in-house, so we know that our live-in carers are only providing the best level of care. What’s more, the one-to-one support provided by a live-in carer enables people to keep their social life active and continue with their hobbies, as well as usual day-to-day life and activities. We match up our live-in carers to your needs, interests and personality to make sure your they slot right in to your routine.
At Helping Hands, we understand how dementia affects not just those with the diagnosis, but their surrounding family too. Every single one of our carers goes through detailed dementia training, enabling them to fully manage and support the difficulties that the condition can bring.
Providing care at home for people with dementia is a great way of maintaining routine, ensuring familiarity and ultimately keeping people where they want to be. Dementia can often present challenging behaviour and demanding moments, but there is no circumstance that our expertly trained carers cannot manage and support you with.
With a team of dementia care specialists on side to support every single carer across Cannock and the local area, we can set up a dementia package to suit your loved one’s daily routines, and have the flexibility to alter their care package to suit their changing care needs.
You might just need a 30-minute visit once a week to assist you with the laundry, or you might need more regular visits and the occasional overnight stays. Whatever the reason, our Cannock carers are always available to support you.
From companionship to more complex clinical care, our friendly and professional carers are fully trained to cover all aspects of care, such as catheter management, medication administration, mobility assistance and general household chores.
For many elderly individuals, it can often be difficult to accept the need for a little extra support at home. If you’re in your more senior years or you have a loved one that is and you’re worried about their wellbeing, we’re here to provide a personalised support plan to alleviate your worries and support you to live independently at home.
Whether you need an extra pair of hands to help you with your household chores, assistance with your personal elderly care or just someone to enjoy a cup of tea with, we’re here to provide the practical and emotional support you need to feel safe, happy and independent at home.
We understand the unpredictability of care needs. Whether it’s an unexpected injury or illness or your regular caregiver must tend to an emergency elsewhere; it can be distressing when last-minute situations arise at such short notice that finding an alternative seems almost impossible. With respite care from our Cannock team, we can swiftly put a bespoke package of respite care in place to give you the support you need for as long as you need it – often on the same day as your initial enquiry.
Michelle and her team will not only provide you with the high-quality care that you expect and deserve, but they will also ensure a seamless transition between carers so that you receive no disruption to your usual routine.
Every single one of our local carers has been recruited and trained in-house at our Centre of Excellence, providing them with the skillset they need to carry out impeccable care in your home.
All of our Cannock carers are passionate and dedicated to providing the best possible care, which is why we regularly run refresher courses. Combined with working in the field, this extra training provides them with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to deliver the right care.
We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and because we provide a fully managed service – which means we handle the care process from start to finish – we can provide support at every step of the way if there is ever a problem or change in circumstance.
Our Cannock branch is fully regulated and accredited by the CQC and CIW.
