Respite care in Christchurch

My journey in care started whilst I was studying at university and I joined the Helping Hands team in January 2020. I fell in love with the job instantly and truly believe that care and kindness is at the heart of everything we do. I am proud to oversee the service in Christchurch and lead our amazing team of carers and also the branch support team. In my spare time, I love exploring the local area by foot or paddleboard and try to spend as much time as possible close to the beach!
My journey in care started whilst I was studying at university. I have worked with Helping Hands for over three years, working in various roles in both West Sussex and Dorset. I am extremely passionate about domiciliary care and enhancing the quality of our customers' lives to remain in their own homes, surrounded by loved ones. I find it extremely rewarding when we achieve a positive outcome to someone we support and their family, and also support our team to deliver the best care possible.

At Helping Hands Bristol, my main role is to ensure that we provide high quality care and a safe service. I ensure the branch runs smoothly day-to-day and both the customers and carers are happy.
I have always been around others who care growing up, as most of my family have worked in some part of the care sector and believed it was my calling. I would care from my Grandad from the age of 15 and found my passion to help others. I started as a carer in 2014 and grew through the job roles.
At Helping Hands we have great values and always ensure we provide a high-quality service for our customers, with person-centred support plans to ensure our customers receive the best service that they deserve. Our care team in Bristol is made up of a diverse, inspirational team, empathetic and supportive to our customers.
In my spare time I thoroughly enjoy travelling, a bit of shopping and lunching with friends. I enjoy music and have been roped in to singing at events and family functions from time to time.

My main roles and responsibilties as Area Care Manager are to oversee and improve the running of the branches within the South West. I am responsible for ensuring that our clients and carers are kept safe, and that the service we are providing is of high quality.
I have always had a passion in caring for others. The term 'caring' for me has never been about rushing in and helping someone to get washed and dressed. For me it's about making a positive impact to someone else' s life; helping them achieve what they want, and enabling them to remain independent at home in the place that means the most to them.
The care we provide at Helping Hands is of such high quality, and I truly believe that if my parents required care, Helping Hands would be the first I would contact. The carers always go over and above to ensure the clients are happy, and as an area care manager that's certainly one thing I can say I am proud of. It' s clear that all of us at Helping Hands live, sleep and breath the culture and we love what we do.

Hi, I'm Adam and as Divisional Director, I'm responsible for making sure that all the customers we help are looked after brilliantly. In order to do this, we need to have the very best carers and support teams there for them so that they can thrive within Helping Hands and do what they do best: care. I think we do everything possible to really understand our customers' needs and then do everything possible to find the right carer for them. Our carers do a wonderful job, and they are special people who are 'hardwired' to care.
