Visiting care and home care in Cwmbran

Cwmbran was once a village that had grown up in the valley around the tinplate workings of the local Iron Company. It was designated a new town site in 1949, and the old village as was, renamed ‘Old Cwmbran’. In 1833 the Ordnance Survey map of the time showed Cwmbran as a farm in what is now Upper Cwmbran, in a valley that was called Cwm Bran (valley of the crow in Welsh).

Our friendly Cwmbran team can offer visiting care and live-in care services depending on your requirements and the complexity of your condition. You may prefer to have someone come to your home once a week, once a day, or several times over a 24-hour period. You can also have someone living in your home with you which can provide extra reassurance to both you and your loved ones that you’re never alone. Just because you require care doesn’t mean you should have to leave the home you love, and with care at home from the Cwmbran team you won’t have to.

More independence with home care in Cwmbran

Home care is a valuable alternative to feeling you need to leave the house you love and move into a care home. Just because you require care doesn’t mean you can no longer remain at home; in fact, with visiting homecare you get the best of both worlds: the support you need to continue living independently as well as the companionship of our friendly and compassionate care workers. Regardless of the condition you’re living with, our care workers will help you to live well in your home and provide all the everyday support you need. Whether you need an extra pair of hands to help with cleaning and tidying the house, taking you grocery shopping, carrying out your personal care or assisting with medication, we can help you as often or infrequently as you need us, from just 30 minutes per week.

Care agency in Cwmbran

We’ve never been a care agency at Helping Hands – we’re proud of the fact that we’ve been a private home care company since we were founded in 1989, and we are still living by the same mission and values today. We employ all of our care workers directly, unlike care agencies, as they’ll ‘introduce’ you and your care worker and then leave you to manage every aspect of their employment. We take care of everything, though, leaving you and your care worker to focus on the most important aspect of all – your wellbeing.

Live-in care in Cwmbran

When you have a care worker living in your home, you may be concerned about how you’ll get on with one another or whether your home won’t feel like your own anymore. With our amazing live-in care workers, there are no such concerns. Our teams work tirelessly to match you with a care worker who will complement your way of life and support your hobbies and interests and because we believe that’s an important part of our service we never charge extra for it, unlike introductory care agencies do. We understand that having someone living in may take a little getting used to, but you’ll quickly become friends and you’ll soon wonder how you ever managed at home without them.

Private care in Cwmbran

Being a private care company and remaining in control of our entire branch network means we can insist upon constant high standards of care and take immediate action if those standards are not being carried out. We have almost 150 branches across Wales and England, closely monitored by a team of managers in the field, and because we don’t allow franchises, we know that every one of those branches will maintain their local service as a matter of pride and dedication to the customers in their area.

Fully-trained carers in Cwmbran

We understand what it takes to make someone an exceptional care worker, and we provide training and development to complement the skills and experience our dedicated professionals may already have. However, there is something we can’t teach, and that’s the ability to care for others naturally, the desire to help people selflessly and compassionately. Therefore, we carefully select our care workers to ensure that they have the natural skills that we require, but your safety is also top of our priority list; consequently, we thoroughly check our care workers' backgrounds and screen them through the DBS before allowing them to enter your home or care for you. We are also fully regulated by the Care Inspectorate Wales,  who ensure we are providing effective, safe and responsive care at all times, which is another assurance an introductory care agency won’t be able to give you. Consequently, you and your loved ones can be reassured that our standards will remain consistently high and that the care delivered by our Cwmbran branch will always be exceptional.
