Meet Kym, our Branch Manager

“Hello! I’m Kym, Branch Manager for Newport & Caldicot. It is my role to ensure the smooth running of the branches. I will be responsible for introducing, publicising and promoting the Helping Hands brand, and turning it into a home name. I am also responsible for building the hours and growth of the business, as well as looking after our fantastic customers and carers.

I'm passionate about ensuring best practice, great local care within our communities and ensuring that we look after our carers and our customers' welfare."

Visiting home care in Newport

Here at Helping Hands we offer individually tailored high quality home care in Newport, Cheptstow, Cadicot, Cwmbran and the surrounding areas. Still family owned and run, we draw on 28 years of experience to ensure that the very best standards of support are delivered by our carers to each and every one of our customers.

Kym and her team provide everything from companionship, housekeeping, through to providing more complex healthcare support for people with conditions such as MS, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s, acquired brain injuries and those who have suffered a stroke. Every member of the Helping Hands team is here to ensure we enable our customers to enjoy the quality of life they deserve in the comfort of their own home, irrespective of their personal or medical needs.

The team of dedicated carers across Newport and the surrounding areas are chosen and trained at the branch, supported by expert guidance from a team of registered nurses and myself. We draw on our extensive knowledge of the area, having first launched Helping Hands in Warwickshire in 1989.

If you’re receiving direct payments for social care through social services, we are able to accept top-ups to these payments. Get in touch to find out more.

The carers were amazing, so happy, and always on time. They were really friendly and did all we asked of them. They treated my mother-in-law with respect and dignity.

Live-in care in Newport

If you need a more intense level of home care in Newport our carers are fully trained to provide you with it. Our live-in care services in Newport mean that one of our carers can be there to help you around the clock. If you have a progressive medical condition or have been recently injured and need support around the home, one of our carers can give you the extra support you need. If your medical condition requires that you take medication in the middle of the night, one of our carers can be there to remind you to take it, and help to administer it.

You can be confident in the expert knowledge of our carers. All of our local Newport carers have been fully trained at our very own Centre of Excellence, and have a wide knowledge of complex condition-led care. All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.

Our Newport carers are committed to providing you or your loved one with the very best possible care. To ensure that they can deliver your care to the highest standard, we are committed to providing them with a comprehensive programme of training and support.

Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in on-going training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements.

Our carers are also committed to ensuring that you receive the best condition-led care available, and work with local GPs to understand how best to support you.

What I enjoy most about care is seeing my customers and building relationships with them. I believe it is an achievement to gain their trust and I am so proud of what I do.
