Visiting care and home care in Didcot

Despite coming into its own as a Victorian railway town and the land around modern-day Didcot being inhabited for at least 9000 years, the area has as much to offer the future as it does the past, thanks to several large science and technology centres nearby. It’s convenient position equidistant from both Oxford and Reading also makes it a popular location with commuters and offers the best of both worlds -  attractive small-town living with convenient access to larger cities nearby.

At Helping Hands, we pride ourselves on supporting people with conditions ranging from dementia, MND, Parkinson’s, and cancer, as well as throughout a palliative journey and at the end-of-life. We’ve been doing so since we were established in 1989, meaning that we have more than 30 years of expertise in delivering private home care to our customers. Our visiting and live-in care services are also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales to ensure our quality remains high.

    24/7 live in care support

Live-in care in Didcot really isn’t like anything else; there’s something very special about the reassurance that comes from knowing you’re never alone at home. From enjoyable companionship through to complex care needs, our live-in carers are dedicated to ensuring you enjoy the very best quality of life at home. And because they go through a rigorous programme of instruction to ensure they’re ready to support your condition entirely, your independence will always be fully promoted.

Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Didcot

Care agencies are not all the same – in fact some agencies are not agencies at all! Helping Hands has never been a care agency, instead we’re a private home care company and have been since we began. This makes a difference because care agencies don’t employ their carers directly, leaving you to sort out payment and employment legalities when you should be concentrating on living well. They’ll also expect you to pay a fee to be ‘matched’ with a suitable carer, when this should all be part of the service. However, you’ll be glad to know that all of this comes as standard with Helping Hands, and so much more.

Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Didcot

Our carers are very special people, and we look after them as well as they look after you. They’re the beating heart of Helping Hands which is why we ensure they’re fully supported at all times through skills updates, development opportunities, and employment perks. We build on their existing knowledge and ensure they receive all they’ll need to look after their customers superbly. In addition, we’re so proud that many of our managers began as carers with us, proving that if we nurture talent, people will want to remain with us.
