High Wycombe

We don't know what we do without the carers. They are our stars, they are our saviours.

High Wycombe

At Helping Hands, we’ve been delivering exceptional, person-centred home care to people across England and Wales since 1989. In that time, we’ve helped tens of thousands of customers to remain independent, secure and confident in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their own homes. We firmly believe that home is always the best place to receive care because it’s where you can truly relax and be yourself. And, with a fully managed care service that is independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we also believe that we’re perfectly placed to provide you with all the support you need to live your best life.

Our High Wycombe care team are also able to support you in Hazlemere, Downley, Naphill, Handy Cross, Beaconsfield, Marlow, and many more locations nearby.

Visiting and live-in care in High Wycombe

Once the site of a Roman villa, High Wycombe gets its name from the river Wye and the old English word for a wooded valley, “combe”. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, High Wycombe had a flourishing furniture manufacturing industry, and High Wycombe Museum is home to a number of pieces that were built during that period.

Our High Wycombe Helping Hands team know how important it is that you’re able to remain in the home that you love, surrounded by familiar furnishings and your favourite views, whilst receiving the care that you need. That’s why our wonderful carers will always be happy to support you to live your best life.

Meet the team

Louise Bradley

Meet Louise Bradley, our Regional Care Director, High Wycombe

As Regional Care Director, I’m responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered throughout our East region, across both our hourly branches and live-in care teams. My aim is to deliver the highest standards of care through tailored, person-centred care plans that offer outcome-focused delivery through dedicated, expertly skilled care teams. I learnt first-hand how important person-centred care is when my own father was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. Throughout his short fight with the disease, I was overawed and enormously grateful to the multidisciplinary teams who worked selflessly to make his last days as comfortable as they could be. This ignited in me just how important bespoke care is.

Visiting care

With visiting care plans starting from as little as 30 minutes per week, we’re sure to be able to provide you with a flexible, bespoke visiting care plan that gives you the level of support you need. Whether you need a bit of extra companionship, someone to take care of the housework, personal care and continence care, or more specialised medical care, our wonderful carers are fully trained and equipped to help you around the home and allow you to spend more time doing the things you enjoy with the people you love.

Live-in care in High Wycombe

When you or your loved one find yourself requiring a greater level of support in and around the home, you may wish to consider live-in care. At Helping Hands, we’re able to provide personal live-in care in High Wycombe that offers you round-the-clock support from your very own Helping Hands carer. We’ll make sure you’re matched with someone who shares your interests, hobbies and personality, and your carer will live in your home with you and assist you in any way you might require. Live-in care is a popular care choice for people living with complex medical conditions that require constant monitoring, and can also be a great source of companionship for those feeling isolated or unsupported.

Care Agency in High Wycombe

Helping Hands are a private care provider, which means we’ll give you certain guarantees that you won’t always get if you opt for agency care in High Wycombe. For instance, we employ our carers directly and handle their monthly wages, as well as taking care of all the fiddly paperwork and administration that can often be so time consuming. We’re also up-front about how much our care costs – you’ll get no hidden fees or unexpected bills from us, because the cost of your care won’t vary from the quote we provide you with. We take all these steps because we want your care journey to be as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

Private care in High Wycombe

When you choose Helping Hands as your home care partner, you’ll be partnering with an industry-leading private care provider. This means that you’ll get a care plan that is completely personalised to your individual requirements and preferences, rather than just a generic one-size-fits-all package of care that doesn’t take into consideration the specific needs of your condition and circumstances. From your very first phone call to our customer support team, we’ll place you at the centre of every decision, ensuring you end up being properly supported in the ways you most need to be.

Emergency care

There are occasions when you can’t anticipate that you might require care at short notice. For example, you may have experienced a medical setback that has left you unable to take care of yourself or your home properly, or your normal carer might have been taken absent unexpectedly and hasn’t been able to arrange cover. Whatever your reason for needing emergency care, we at Helping Hands are perfectly placed to step in and make sure you’re still receiving all the support you need on a day-to-day basis. We’ll send one of our superb, expertly-trained carers to your home, normally within 24 hours of your initial call, to help you out in whatever way you might need and give you the opportunity to focus on yourself.

Overnight care

Overnight care provides you or your loved one with additional support throughout the night during a period when you can often feel at your most vulnerable. Whether you’re living with age-related frailty, a type of dementia, or another serious medical condition that requires close monitoring, having an expert, friendly carer stay with you overnight can provide both you and your friends and family with total reassurance that you’ll always be looked after should you need any assistance.

Fully-trained carers in High Wycombe

Our wonderful team of carers in High Wycombe have all been hand-picked for their empathetic, dedicated approach to their care. We believe that being a carer requires a compassionate, kind personality, so we make sure we only employ people who display these traits. As well as ensuring our carers will be a great character fit for us and for you, we also perform extensive background checks before they join us. Then, when they start at Helping Hands, every carer is enrolled in our award-winning training programme and will continue to receive regular refresher training to keep their skillset and knowledge permanently up to date. Plus, all of our care services are independently monitored and regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know we’re fully committed to the very highest standards of care.
