Over the last 30 years we have provided care at home to over 40,0000 customers which demonstrates our pedigree as the true home care experts. If you’d rather stay in the home you love to receive the care you need, then talk to Helping Hands about how we could be supporting you or your loved ones. We’re also fully regulated by the CQC and CIW which sees us regularly exceed our own high standards for delivering home care to our customers, and our compassionate carers make the real difference to so many people’s lives, every single day.
We can support you in and around Dorridge, Bentley Heath, Hockley Heath, Nuthurst, Earlswood, Cheswick Green, and the surrounding areas.
Whilst Dorridge in its present community didn’t exist until the middle of the 19th century, there were certainly people living sporadically in the area a lot longer ago than that. An axe dating back to 1300BC was found nearby and cottages exist from the 16th century, but it was thanks to the arrival of the railway that Dorridge grew to its present size and prominence.
Helping Hands are familiar with small beginnings and steady growth, as we were founded in 1989 in Alcester, Warwickshire and are now established all across England and Wales. Our visiting care service can come to you from just 30 minutes a week, or we can provide live-in care for all of your needs, so regardless of how we can support you, talk to us today.
"Hello! I’m Denny, the Manager at Helping Hands' Solihull branch. I have been with the company for over 10 years and started my career path as a carer with Helping Hands. I know from personal experience how daunting it can be to receive care for the first time. I personally looked after my own mum and mother-in-law who both received palliative care, so have experienced first-hand what it is like to deliver care.
“My role is to make sure we get the 'right fit' for our customers, deliver continuity and quality care, and create a bespoke care plan. We can pop in for half an hour in the morning or even take them out for the whole day. Our aim is to be flexible with people’s needs as they can change on a daily basis. Our carer training is impeccable, with ongoing training and support from myself and our team of Clinical Nurses."
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
Our visiting care service starts from just 30 minutes a week, so you can be sure that we’ll design a bespoke package of care just for you. Accompanied by your personalised support plan, your care will be delivered by our compassionate carers who go above and beyond to ensure that our customers are as comfortable as possible in their own homes, safeguarding your wellbeing at all times. We can support with personal care, medication administration, housework etc, as well as promoting your independence by taking you to activities and appointments in the community.
Our compassionate live-in carers are never under your feet, as when they are living in your home with you they are always discreet; recognising when you need some time to yourself or to spend with loved ones. If you’re living with complex care needs you can also benefit from the supervision of our clinical nurses, one of which will thoroughly train your carer to ensure they understand all your requirements down to the smallest detail. If you want to avoid having to go into a care home or you’d appreciate someone with you around the clock, then our live-in care service could be the answer.
We’re confident in our carers to deliver the best care possible to our customers in their own homes, as our carers feel valued and highly motivated to work for such an expert home care company. We’ve been established for over 30 years and our long history has allowed us to become knowledgeable about every aspect of care, so no matter what condition you’re living with, our service can help. We never surprise our customers with hidden costs or referral fees as our fully regulated and managed service means we are not an agency, we’re proud to be a private home care company who will always put you first.
With our domiciliary care service, you will get the best of both worlds; care at home in the place you love and the support of our dedicated and compassionate carers, as often or as infrequently as you need it. The benefits of care at home are enormous whether you have visiting or live-in care, such as your own routine always being followed, no set meal times like you’d get in a care home and remaining in your familiar, comforting surroundings. We focus your care entirely on making sure you’re as independent as possible at home, supporting you to live your very best life possible at all times.
With dementia care, our compassionate carers can offer support to anyone living with dementia, whether you’ve recently been diagnosed or if you’re further along your journey. We can be with you every step of the way as your condition progresses, offering specialist assistance due to our more than 30 years’ experience of caring for people living with dementia. We can help you to live your best life possible at home, supporting you to create, preserve and reflect on memories, as well as practical help such as personal care, meal preparation and mobility support.
Whether you need short or longer-term respite care, our compassionate carers can help. There’s no need to go into residential care, even temporarily, as our carers will be able to visit you regularly or live-in your home and offer support with every aspect of your daily routines. Perhaps your regular carer is going for a well-deserved break or your family are planning a holiday, maybe they want you to go with them or you need support while they’re gone. Whatever the circumstances we can help, even in an emergency, where we can get care into your home within 24 hours.
We can become a little frailer as we age, and while it’s not a given that it’ll happen, we can also find difficulty with household tasks that we use to complete with ease. This can be due to age-related frailties, joint pain or as the result of a fall, or maybe just from the anxiety that something could happen while you’re on your own at home. Don’t struggle on by yourself, with elderly care our compassionate carers can come and support you with every aspect of your daily routine including housework, personal care, meal preparation and medication.
Our carers are at the heart of our business, as every day of the year they are out in their communities ensuring that our customers live their best lives possible in their own homes. Our carers are fully trained when they join us, and we know they’ll do an amazing job as we only select people to work for Helping Hands who share our ethos for the highest standards of care delivery. We’re industry leading home care experts thanks to our 30 years of experience and the fact that we’re fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, as well as our accreditations from many of the UK’s leading charities and organisations.
