In the Domesday Book of 1086, Grimsby is said to have had a population of around 200 people and was home to a priest, a mill and a ferry that traversed the Humber. Nowadays its population is considerably larger and the ferry goes as far as the Netherlands, but there are still numerous landmarks throughout the town that point to its historic past.
At Helping Hands, we’re doing our utmost to ensure our customers are able to enjoy life the way they want it – whether they’re used to being as swashbuckling as possible or prefer to enjoy the peacefulness of Grimsby and the surrounding area. Whatever your needs and wishes, our care team in Grimsby will be able to work with you to develop a package of care that is perfectly matched to your individual circumstances.
"Hello, My name is Kirsty and I am the Branch Manager at Helping Hands in Beverley and Hull. As branch manager, I am accountable for all care and business operations. On a daily basis I ensure that all our care is covered, review our compliance and ensure we are compliant with CQC. I have a fantastic team of office staff that look after our recruitment and provide all mandatory training to our continually growing team of carers."
"I started working for Helping Hands at the end of 2019 as a care coordinator which I thoroughly enjoyed, before progressing within the company and becoming Branch Manager in October 2020."

If you or a loved one are finding that your current care plan isn’t quite providing you with the round-the-clock support that you require, you may wish to consider switching to live-in care. With live-in care, one of our lovely carers will come to live in your home with you and assist in any way you may require – from doing the laundry and vacuuming to providing continence care and medication support. Our live-in carers can also help you get out and about, so whether you want to pop to the shops, attend an appointment or meet up with friends, your independence will be fully supported.
We can’t always anticipate when we might require care, particularly at short notice. With emergency care from Helping Hands, you don’t need to worry about every being left unsupported or isolated if you unexpectedly find yourself without the support you need. Whether your normal carer is suddenly unable to fulfil their care commitments or you’ve been discharged from hospital much earlier than anticipated, we’re typically able to have one of our superb, empathetic carers in your home to assist you within 24 hours of your initial call – meaning you can stop stressing about whether or not things will get done.
When you partner with a private care provider such as Helping Hands, you can expect an exceptional standard of care from a team of motivated, compassionate and highly trained carers. From the moment you first get in touch, your Grimsby care team will take the time to understand your specific needs and wishes and help you design a package of care that completely suits your individual situation – down to meal preferences, bed times and visits from loved ones.
If you or a loved one are feeling unsupported, isolated or insecure throughout the night, you may wish to consider overnight care. Overnight care involves having a carer spend the night in your home with you and providing you with professional support in whatever way you need. It’s a great way to provide you and your loved ones with peace of mind about your wellbeing, as you can have full confidence that you’ll be totally supported should you experience a fall or need to use the toilet in the middle of the night.
At Helping Hands, we make every effort to ensure we recruit the very best carers available. We only hire people who demonstrate our company-wide values of compassion, dedication and empathy, and we perform extensive background checks before we hire anyone to make sure we’re completely happy sending them to your home. Every carer is enrolled on our award-winning training programme, and continues to receive regular refresher training to keep them up to date with the latest best practices and industry standards. We’re also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales to give you added reassurance that we’ll provide exceptional care day in, day out.
