Home care in Highbury
Visiting care and home care in Highbury
An area of North East London famed for accommodating Arsenal FC, the world’s greatest football club, Highbury is an area for which property is highly sought after.
While it is the fictional home of Mr. Bean, in reality, it’s the home of one of the nation’s leading home care providers – Helping Hands. All of our carers are required to complete regular refresher training so that they are always using the latest methods approved by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
From little and often visits from a companion who can help with your daily tasks, to full-time live-in care and clinical support, there is a Helping Hands carer awaiting your call. All our care plans are tailored entirely to you so that the support you receive can change as your requirements do, providing you with a dedicated service that is as flexible as it is competent; with compassion at the forefront of its delivery.

Branch Care Manager
I am responsible for ensuring the service is safe and fully compliant with all legal regulations and am accountable for the overall leadership of the service. I line manage a team of a Care Coordinator, and two Care & Training Practitioners, and ensure our carers are managed effectively. I am responsible for business development for my branch and ensuring the service is viable by working with key stakeholders within the business and reviewing our business and marketing plans. I volunteered at a day centre for adults with learning difficulties in my late teens and decided then that I wanted a career supporting people to live a fulfilling life. I feel proud of the service we provide and the carers we have are all very reliable and enjoy the work that they do. I love to read and I love to travel, as well as enjoying spending time with friends and family.

Other care we provide
High quality home care in Highbury
For over 30 years, we have been providing care to thousands of people across the country who require additional support with their health needs, all from the comfort and familiarity of their own home.
Our team in Highbury is no different; their friendly carers and manager will work with you and your family to create a personalised support plan tailored entirely for you. After all, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach at Helping Hands – we make sure that everything is led by you at a pace that you’re comfortable with, so that your care visits are adapted around your routines and preferences.
We understand that it can be a bit daunting at first to welcome new people into your home, especially if they are assisting you with washing, dressing and toileting. Our carers will take everything at your pace, enabling you to live independently, rather than doing everything for you and taking over.
24/7 live in care support
For more complex health care needs such as Parkinson’s, strokes or dementia, live-in care in Highbury can enable you to receive one-to-one, nurse-led care whilst you relax and enjoy the surroundings of your own home that you’ve become accustomed to. We’ll take the time to find the right care for both your physical and emotional needs, matching them with you based on care experience and personality.
If you have clinical needs such as PEG feeding or continence care, we have a team of regional nurses who oversee all of our clinical care packages and provide specialised training for our live-in carers.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Highbury
To ensure that we employ only the very best carers, we haver a rigorous assessment and selection process. Right from the get-go, we want to know exactly what our potential carers are like as people, as we only employ those that are kind, compassionate and put others first. Once selected, they take part in mandatory training, which involves acquiring the practical and theoretical skills for manual handling, dementia, first aid, safeguarding, personal care and medication.
Helping Hands is a founding member of the Homecare Association (HCA), who were created in order to share best care practice between organisations. Additionally, we are also members of the Dementia Action Alliance, who unites its members in the most up to date dementia care practices.
We have been providing private care at home for more than 30 years. We have never been a care agency, as we directly employ our care experts and ensure they are fully protected by UK employment regulations. All our carers are trained to provide you with the best care possible. We are always upfront and transparent with how much your care costs, so rest assured you won’t find any hidden fees on your bill.
